Dogs and humans alike are going to love every single minute of their time at this wonderful property, located in a tranquil valley in Dartmoor National Park. The cottage forms part of the main farmhouse which lies in a secluded and private but by no means isolated valley.  Up to four guests and two four-legged friends can enjoy nature at its very best here, with long country walks around the valley on offer right from the front door.  As well as an enclosed courtyard, the addition of an exercise paddock within beautiful shared gardens will ensure Fido is dog-tired by the end of each exciting day.

Upon arrival, a complimentary cream tea can be found in the cosy lounge/dining space. A wood burner adds to the homely feel in this room and logs are provided for your use during your stay. In addition, there’s a fully equipped kitchen which has everything you could need whilst you’re here, along with two bedrooms and a shower room with a WC located on the first floor. Outside you will find a shared utility barn with laundry facilities, and an enclosed patio garden area with seating – the perfect place to sit, chat about the day’s activities and plan your next adventures. The games barn has bi-fold doors which can be fully opened in good weather and a large wood-burning stove for the cooler evenings

Long country walks around the valley and beyond to Tottiford, Trenchford and Kennick reservoirs are on offer right from the front door.  This property is also perfectly situated to be able to enjoy the stunning countryside of Dartmoor National Park as well as being close to many interesting places and attractions. A traditional 16th century pub serving delicious food is less than a mile from the property and you’ll find a well-stocked shop with all your essentials 3 miles away in nearby village, Christow. Canonteign Falls, England’s highest manmade waterfall, is just 2 miles away and welcomes dogs on a lead. For beach lovers, Dawlish Warren Beach is a 16-mile drive away.

These cottages benefit from a great location (easy to get to by car, with loads of lovely walks nearby) a gorgeous setting (beautiful woodland in a valley) and being on a fantastic estate where you have access to shady gardens and woodlands and great facilities. Would happily go back. Youre provided with a really handy folder with loads of good tipRead mores for things to do and places to visit which we used quite a bit. Hennock is a really friendly village too with a great local. Hide

Lovely, comfortable cottage in the most tranquil of locations- it was so peaceful- just the sound of birdsong to accompany an early morning walk with the dog to watch the deer grazing in front of the woodland! Amazing! The cottage itself was comfortable and well equipped with a lovely log burner to make the evenings really cosy. The cream tea anRead mored dog treat basket which were laid out for our arrival were a lovely welcoming touch. This was a lovely place to stay with plenty to do onsite - great walks from your doorstep and a games barn with pool table, darts, table tennis and a projector tv for home cinema evenings - we didnt use these facilities so I cant comment on their condition but really great to have them available. The one comment that I would make is to make sure that you follow the owners directions to the property rather than sat nav otherwise you will end up in some extremely narrow lanes with very limited passing places. We tended to ignore sat nav and always turned right out of the property which took a little longer to get to the main roads but avoided the very narrow roads which could be a bit hair raising. In all a fabulous holiday in a great location- we will definitely return. Hide

Another great stay at Primrose Cottage . The cottage was warm for our winter stay & we loved the log burner, so cosy. The cottage is spotlessly clean & has everything you need, including a lovely welcome cream tea & even treats & towels for our dog. The bed was comfortable & a great shower. The enclosed dog field is great to run around off lead. AlRead moreso, wonderful walks around the private woods & grounds. The barn is an amazing facility, which we loved on NYE with the log burner & games . Thank you Hide

Stunning place to stay quiet enough even to hear owls hooting games room was great for us too with 2 children under 10. Log burners in the cottage and games room just cracking for the December dark cold evenings/nights . The owners were lovely on arrival greeting us and showing us to the cottage with a cream tea set out for our arrival beautiful.

We were very pleased with our stay at Primrose cottage. A great location for visiting East Dartmoor. A peaceful spot. We felt very comfortable especially with the log burner (we stayed in October). The games room provided hours of entertainment for our children. Everything we needed.

Perfect cosy little cottage for two people, in a lovely rural setting. Arriving to a cream tea was a lovely touch, especially the vegan one! We loved the games/movie room as did our grandchildren when they visited, great to have the log burner in there which was needed as it was really chilly.

No issues for us. Great venue and wonderful hosts. Nothing more exciting than driving down a narrow Devon country land and encounter a tractor with trailer.
