Property code: OC-06199

Adventure is on the cards when you choose this cosy lodge on the northern fringes of Dartmoor National Park, a fantastic destination for outdoor enthusiasts with four legs or two. Set just 2 miles from Okehampton, the property sleeps six humans and one dog, and is ideal for families. Round off your daily explorations returning to soak in your private hot tub with a glass of wine.

Sniff out the comfiest spots from the moment you head up the steps and enter the wooden-clad exterior, snoozing in front of the flame-effect fire in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Natural light pours in through the floor-to-ceiling windows and patio doors, creating a soothing ambience for sipping your morning coffee on the sofas. Rustle up a feast in the kitchen and dine at the table by candlelight, slipping a few morsels to Fido. A utility room and a bathroom with a shower over the bath will help take care of muddy paws and, at bedtime, all three bedrooms are stylish and comfortable with ample room for a basket. The double bedroom has an en-suite shower room for a spot of pampering. Outside, the decked terrace has a hot tub for balmy evenings.

Pack a picnic and embark across the rugged landscape of Dartmoor with your four-legged friend, navigating craggy moorland, crystal-clear streams and patches of ancient woodland straight out of a fairy tale. Challenging hill climbs or gentle ambles will help you soak up the scenery as you explore, and you may even spy some elusive wild ponies. Okehampton is a treasure trove of independent shops and cafes, and the remains of the medieval motte and bailey castle is a must for any historian and his tufty-pawed pal.

Lovely cabin, great size open plan kitchen/diner/lounge, great utility space, amazing decking area! We had such a great stay. The only negative thing was the size of the master bed & shower. Very small, my husband kept falling out of bed & the shower was so small it was hard to wash properly, but apart from that, everything else was great.

We had a lovely week staying in this lodge. It is well equipped, clean and tidy. The open plan kitchen, dining, living space made for a inclusive experience. Theres plenty of storage, making it perfect for a week away. The separate utility cupboard with a washer/dryer is a great feature. The cabin is beautifully designed, feeling both airy and spacRead moreious while still being warm and cosy, perfect for the unpredictable weather of April. The key feature was the hot tub which apart from taking ages to warm up on the first night was enjoyed and well used. The Wifi is part of the site, not local to the lodge - just something to be aware of. The outer grounds were well managed but limited (the pub was permanently closed and unavailable). We would go again. Hide

We had a lovely week away celebrating my husbands birthday. The lodge was lovely and clean, warm and well equipped, and the area/grounds around the lodge were clean and well kept. Chris was helpful and polite. Arrival/accessing the lodge was straight forward. The park is situated in a quiet location and has good road links around the area, and greaRead moret walks near by. Would definitely go again. Hide

The lodge was very comfortable and well equipped. A good location for walking or cycling the Granite Way. The Pub next door was very uninspiring. Location wise, was good able to get out and explore the surrounding area.

I had an absolutely fantastic stay in this adorable log cabin. The 3 bedrooms are incredibly comfortable, with the master boasting a lovely en-suite, and two well-appointed twin rooms.
