Escape the daily grind at this peaceful, picture-postcard cottage just 1 mile outside the village of Stackpole. Sleeping six people across three bedrooms and welcoming two canine companions, it’s perfect for families or groups of friends who are looking for a tranquil country cottage to call home while they explore Pembrokeshire with their pups by their side. Head off for walkies at Barafundle Bay, where miles of coastal paths lead you along dunes, woodlands and limestone cliffs. In the evening, come home to host an al fresco dinner party on your cottage’s patio while your pups run around the enclosed garden.

From your private parking area (there’s room for 2 cars), step inside this beautiful cottage and you’ll be welcomed by a lounge where welcoming country-cottage styling, an impressive beamed ceiling and a cosy wood burner make the most of the characterful 19th-century interior. Head into the open-plan kitchen/diner to whip up some dinner to share at the elegant dining table. Alternatively, open the wide glass doors from the kitchen and step out onto the patio to share an al fresco meal while your pups play on the enclosed lawn. Afterwards, treat yourself to a glass of something cool and crisp by the wood burner while your pups snooze at your feet. At the end of the day, take the wooden staircase to first floor and you’ll find three sweet country-style bedrooms beneath the sloping ceilings - two doubles and a handy twin. A cheerful shower room completes the layout. Head off to the town of Pembroke (4 miles) with your pups to wander the historic streets and admire the impressive medieval castle. Or set off for Broadhaven South Beach (5 miles) to take in the views of Church Rock. Further afield, check out the dog-friendly cafes in Tenby (10 miles).
