  • Plenty of walks and cycles from your doorstep
  • Perfect location situated on the Welsh/English border
Property code: OC-CHL34

Benefitting from its fantastic location along the English/Welsh border just north of the “town of books” Hay-on-Wye and the Brecon Beacons, this beautiful barn conversion offers a wonderful base for a family holiday or two couples sharing. And with the addition of welcoming up to two dogs, all the family can have a ball! The property itself is single-storey and has been set opposite the owners home; artfully designed to make the best of the picturesque surroundings without any compromise on privacy. Here you can step out and enjoy plenty of walks and cycle trails in the spectacular countryside right from your door.

Whilst the cottage is located opposite the owner’s property, it is accessed via its own private drive. Walk across the front lawn and enter straight into the spacious lounge/diner; bright and airy with picture windows, there is also a wood burner, perfect for enjoying cosy nights in with your canine companions curled up in front of the warm stove. Beyond this sits the kitchen, well-equipped and with all the mod-cons required for a well-catered stay. The door from the kitchen leads into a useful boot room (perfect for cleaning muddy paws and storing dog paraphernalia) which also houses washing machine and another door that leads back outside. There are two spacious bedrooms, one with king-size bed and one twin, as well as a spacious modern bathroom. Step outside and let the dogs go mutts for the enclosed front garden – a flat lawn that offers plenty of space for furry legs to stretch out and run around on. Private off-road parking is also provided.

Situated in the Welsh borders, the picturesque villages of Old and New Radnor are located just 2 miles from the property, both with dog-friendly pubs and Old Radnor also has the convenience of a village shop. Presteigne, with its shops and restaurants is very welcoming of visiting hounds and also offers a number of walking routes to embark on as well as being home to The Weir Garden – owned by the National Trust. Travel just 20 miles to famous Hay-on-Wye for yet more attractions and amenities where Fido can play, eat and sleep; many of the town’s eateries and shops are dog friendly and there are an abundance of outdoor spaces along the river to roam with Rover including Offa’s Dyke Path and the Wye Valley Walk. do.

Court Farm Cottage is lovely, it is peaceful and the scenery in the area is amazing. Bob and Sue are super hosts, they are helpful and kind, with recommendations of places to visit. The food package they left for us was very much appreciated. We hope to visit again.

A lovely base for an active or a gentle holiday - we managed both. The cottage is cosy, comfy and very much a home from home. And Sue and Bob are such welcoming and helpful hosts. We will be visiting again for sure.
