Encircled by field and forest views, this period cottage sleeps four along with two canine companions. The village location is perfect for exploring the southern reaches of Snowdonia National Park, but you’ll have plenty to entertain yourselves thanks to the outdoor BBQ and games shed that features a football/pool table. No detail has been spared to make your four-pawed pal feel right at home too with dog biscuits amongst the welcome goodies and space to dry furry coats in the utility room.

Charming from the outset with its whitewashed stone walls and large, lawned garden, your cosy abode is brimming with old-world charm. Let sleeping dogs lie by the hearth in the lounge, warmed by the wood burner positioned in the fireplace. Plush sofas, beamed ceilings and slate floors complete the scene, creating a snug ambience for hot cocoa and films. The country-cottage-style kitchen features everything you need to rustle up delicious meals under the watchful eyes of your waggy-tailed friend, best enjoyed with a glass of wine around the table. Both bedrooms are upstairs, and there is an elegant bathroom on the ground floor. Rover will adore sniffing through the shrubbery in the garden, leaving you to ponder the next day’s activities over tea.

Active-minded visitors will soon discover the area has a fabulous reputation for outdoor pursuits – and there really is something for everyone with walking, swimming, water sports, fishing, golf and aviation enthusiasts all being possible. A short 0.5-mile stroll will reward you with a pup-friendly ride on the Talyllyn Narrow Gorge Railway to soak up the sights of the Dolgoch waterfalls. The coast is also within easy reach for sea dogs, and the shores of Fairbourne and Aberdovey welcome canine visitors throughout the year 14.5 miles away.

This is difficult because the weather was so bad during our stay that for the first time ever we came home a day early; which alters your view. The cottage comes with a large enclosed garden which was good for the dogs and nice to sit out on the two dry afternoons we had. The stairs were difficult for me as I only recently had a knee replacement. WRead moree didnt need to use the electric radiators or log burner. The bedrooms were large and the beds comfortable, an upstairs loo would have been welcome. Hide

This is a lovely cottage with comfy beds and a well-equipped kitchen. We also appreciated the garden - both beautiful with lovely views and nice and secure for the dog. A really nice base for exploring the gorgeous surroundings.

Lovely, comfortable and well equipped cottage with a great garden (very secure for dogs). Just a few steps away from the cafe at the community centre where the breakfasts are first class, and from The Railway Inn for a warm welcome and delicious, home cooked food.
