Enjoy a romantic getaway in this cosy cottage with fabulous views across the town and towards the distant mountains. The property, which welcomes one canine companion, is perfectly placed to escape to the coast, with golden sandy beaches just 7.5 miles away, or to soak up the peace and quiet on a long dog walk through the heart of Snowdonia National Park.

The property, which has an elevated position overlooking the town, has been stylishly furnished to create a cosy atmosphere. Snuggle up on the sofa, with Rover stretched out in front of the feature fireplace, to watch a film or lose yourself in a good book. Walk down the stairs to the kitchen/diner, where you’ll find a table for two perfectly positioned next to the glow of the wood burner-effect electric fire. Outside, there’s a delightful enclosed garden, where the pup can enjoy a doze in the afternoon sun. In the evening, fire up the BBQ, pour yourself a glass of wine and watch the sunset over the mountains.

With 823 square miles of diverse landscape to explore, you won’t be short of walks to do with the dog in Snowdonia. Nearby Bala Lake, 27.5 miles away, is beautiful and you and the pup can follow the 7.5-mile route that takes you high up into the southern hills, with breathtaking views over the water. Harlech Beach, 7.5 miles away, is one of the largest in the area. The 4-mile sandy beach, backed by rugged dunes, has stunning views of the mountains and the majority of it is paw-friendly all year. For something a bit different, hop on one of the heritage steam trains that depart from Porthmadog (3 miles away) and chug through the National Park in style, with your favourite furry friend by your side.

Querky cottage, very well equipped and in a good position to explore this beautiful area of Wales. Unloading was a little awkward as the cottage is on a main A-road, though parking on the road above was never a problem.

Comfortable cottage. The stairs are very steep to both kitchen and bedroom. Good location for most areas to visit.
