Make a great escape to Fairbourne in North Wales and bring up to three delighted dogs with you. Watch soft ears prick up and tails wag when you wander less than 300 metres down to the beach, where four-legged friends are welcome at either end of the sandy stretch all year round. Take them off to follow footpaths through Snowdonia too from this single-storey, three-bedroom abode that also sleeps up to six guests. Return to bubble in the hot tub and play with your pets in the enclosed garden.

Let yourselves into this dog-lover's delight to hang leads in the hall and wander on into the kitchen with your furry friends. Feed them in this chic space and whip up holiday fare for everyone else too. There’s a useful washing machine too for damp doggy towels. Serve up in the dining room, then take your happy hounds through to the lounge to relax in front of the wood burner and Smart TV. On warm evenings, wander through the conservatory/games room to throw a ball for them in the garden. Settle them for the night, then head off for a hot bath in the family bathroom before laying your head in one of the two king-size rooms or the bunk bedroom. Take the pups outside in the morning; fire up the BBQ and the hot tub later in the day. There’s also storage for bikes and other outdoor gear. Parking is on the road by the holiday home, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Catch a narrow gauge steam train from Fairbourne to the mouth of the scenic Mawddach Estuary and bring your canine companions along for the ride. Hop off and take a ferry over to Barmouth, where you can have lunch in a dog-friendly pub or cafe before heading home.

  • 3 bedrooms - 2 king-size and 1 bunk bedroom

Just what we needed! That was a lovely week for us all...thanks to the property. Unfortunately, we could not have picked a worse week to visit this beautiful area...it rained, almost constantly...the wind and rain was really strong, making it really difficult to impossible to shoot the photo's that we visited this location for! You know what....ItRead more didn't matter to us one bit...we thoroughly enjoyed the complete rest and took full advantage of the peace and quiet, this wonderful Donkey cottage offered us. We had everything we could need to enjoy total relaxation, the property is superbly equipped with so much space available, both indoors and in the totally private and secure garden area. We had a great time exploring locally around Fairbourne from this lovely homely base...and certainly did not want to leave at the end of our stay. Already made our minds up to return to this property later this year. Hide

A very comfortable property. Close to the beach for the kids. The garden states its secure for your dogs, but the gate doesn't lock so this might be something the owners could improve upon. My husband found the area while walking the dogs to have lots of dog waste on the paths, and was told the villagers couldn't afford poopy bags so the dog wasRead morete could be picked up. So that was a little disappointing as I had to be careful using my disability scooter, as I didn't want anything on the wheels.

Response from HolidayCottages.co.uk ~ Thank you for your feedback, we have shared your thoughts with the owner and the issue with the gate has been resolved.

This is a great holiday home and a perfect base for touring the area. The garden is very secure for dogs, has a great hot tub and seating area on a quiet street with very close access to beach and shops. Lots of space, excellent value for money and the owner is very friendly and helpful if you have a problem. Would not hesitate to return again.

Lovely property. Nicely laid out and decorated really well. Lovely thoughtful touches such as milk, eggs, bread, butter and Welsh cakes left for us. Also tea, coffee and sugar. Comfortable beds. Good bedding. Loved the hot tub. Garden was dog friendly.
