Property code: OC-89369

Enjoy an idyllic couples’ retreat at this converted stone barn. Offering far-reaching river and valley views, it’s set on a 220-acre farm where you can wander along designated footpaths down to the River Dee.

This middle barn has a light and spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner where two guests and their canine companions can unwind and enjoy time together – all the essentials of home are here, and there’s a shared laundry room on-site should you need it, too. A cloakroom completes the ground floor, while upstairs there’s a spacious double bedroom with skylights and a vaulted ceiling, and a stylish bathroom. The enclosed patio here really makes the most of its elevated location, with lovely views over the rolling countryside and river in the distance. The dogs will be delighted when you light the charcoal BBQ, and you are all welcome to explore the designated footpaths that are on your doorstep.

Surrounded by mountains, rich in culture and within easy reach of North Wales’ main attractions, Bala is just 3.5 miles away. Wales' biggest natural lake, Llyn Tegid, is the centre of attention here, sandwiched between Eryri/Snowdonia and the Berwyn mountains, overlooked by its own mini-massif: the Arenig mountains. If you and the pups are feeling energetic, it’s a 14-mile walk around the water’s edge. Further afield, the former slate mining centre of Blaenau Ffestiniog (21 miles) is at the centre of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is close to more rugged mountains, lakes and walking trails. Head a similar distance east and you’ll reach Llangollen, a picturesque riverside town with beautiful shops and historic buildings.

Lovely setting and cottage. Three and half miles from Bala which is by a lake beautiful scenery. Dogs can only be on a lead because of animals in the fields.

A great place to base yourself in Snowdonia. Very comfortable well equipped. Hosts were lovely. First visit to Snowdonia in 30 odd years and this was a great place to return.

Lovely cottage with amazing views even in the wet weather. Perfect location not too far away from things to do, but far enough to be very peaceful. The cottage was well equipped and the tea and coffee was a nice touch.

We have been to Wales several times, but this was the first time staying here. The location is great, lots of parking, well equipped accommodation, local facilities just an 5 minute drive away and perfect for the dogs. The view from the location across the lake at Bala is magnificent. There is land associated with the property that you can go for aRead more quiet walk. I would have no issues recommending this location or going back. Hide
