Embrace rural life in this delightful cottage on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. The property, which sleeps four humans and one hound, makes the perfect peaceful retreat for couples and small families. The surrounding Nidderdale National Landscape is a haven for dog walkers, with numerous tracks and trails to explore, including the long-distance Nidderdale Way. For shopping and eating out, the picturesque market town of Pateley Bridge is just 5 miles away.

The charming stone cottage has been beautifully decorated and furnished, and the characterful deep-set windows frame far-reaching views across the rolling Yorkshire countryside. Inside, unwind in the bright and inviting lounge/diner, where you’ll find an array of sumptuous seating set around a Smart TV and a wood burner-effect electric fire. Tucked in one corner is an elegant dining table for sharing mealtimes as a group. The separate kitchen has everything needed for a self-catering getaway and also offers direct access to the garden, making it a good spot to set up the dog bed. Upstairs, the two bedrooms have ample storage for all your holiday attire and both have their own, en-suite facilities. Outside, sip a morning coffee on the bench at the front of the cottage, or come together on the rear patio for al fresco suppers in summer months. You’ll also have access to two enclosed paddocks, one for dog walking and one for children to play in. The cottage has ample private parking.

Both Pateley Bridge and the nearby spa town of Harrogate (15.5 miles) have a great selection on paw-friendly shops and eateries, along with beautiful public parks that are perfect for post-lunch walkies. There are some excellent woof-friendly attractions within easy reach of the cottage, including the National Trust’s Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden (13.5 miles) and the fascinating geological site at Brimham Rocks (7 miles).

A lovely property in a peaceful location. A great base for exploring the nearby dales, villages and towns, away from the hustle and bustle. We loved seeing the lambs and different types of birds (curlew, oystercatcher, lapwing, kite). The cottage is well equipped and nicely presented. The kitchen is very small but has everything you need. We apprecRead moreiated the welcome pack (bread, milk, butter, juice, biscuits, mini cereals etc) and fresh flowers. The lounge is comfy with dual aspect windows. The bedrooms are spacious and bright, with modern en suites. The main bedroom would benefit from a king-size bed, for the taller folk! There is ample space outside (rear) to sit and enjoy the views. Unfortunately we were unable to walk our dog directly from the cottage as there are 2 cattle grids to negotiate before you reach the lane, and didnt use the paddocks as it wasnt clear where they were. Nearby Pateley Bridge is a lovely town. We regularly used the butchers, bakery and Spar, as well as the excellent chippy, sweet shop, gift shop and cafes. We recommend the Nidderdale Museum and a walk along the River Nidd to Glasshouses. We also visited Middleham, Masham, Harrogate, Ilkley, Otley, Skipton, Hebden, Grassington. A folder in the cottage has some leaflets with ideas of places to visit. Hide
