This cottage is functional and should be used as a base to explore the local area rather than a place to spend a lot of time. It's dog friendly which we appreciated. Parking is available on the road but you might have to walk a short distance to the house depending on how busy it is. Don't expect the wifi to work!

Location was great and the area was lovely and quiet. The cottage itself was a bit run down and dated but fire was great - bring your own wood. The garden was not enclosed and had some rubbish in the front garden. Had issues with the bathroom door closing and could not run enough warm water to use the bath. There was mould on the bedroom walls and Read morethe bathroom windows are both cracked. Seems a shame as has great potential but was not worth the money we paid. Hide

Overall cleanliness was a big thing for us unfortunately the house had a musty damp smell as soon as we entered with mould on the walls in the bedroom. The fireplace was a mess when we arrived with no logs left for us. The sink in the kitchen had an awful egg smell to it when the taps were running as well as a dirty toaster and oven trays. Also no Read moreenclosed garden. Apart from this the house was fine, clean bed sheets and towels were provided. Close to lots of walks and easy access to a bus. Hide

Loved the location of this cottage, passing of the Ffestiniog train, the stream and ideally located for places to visit. Front garden was weedy, and had a large bag of twigs. No welcome pack (small carton of milk?) information pack, places to go, important contact details, recommended eating places note of WIFI code. Cottage was not in the best of Read morerepair-cracked window panes, no bath mat, no hooks for wet coats, sofa and chair were well worn. Shower was good with lovely bath towels. Hide

Lovely cottage in general, set in a beautiful little village. The village itself is lovely and its worth the 10 minute walk to the local Kings Head' pub, we got to know a good few of the locals and the owners and they all made us feel very welcome.

It is a lovely little cottage in Blaenau Ffestiniog, for us it has been a startpoint to discover the national park. It is recommended to come by car, as there are no restaunrants in Blaenau Ffestiniog and public transport to the start of circular hikes is limited in autumn. Parking in the street is OK, although some neighbours claim the "unwriten" Read morerights in parking directly across the house. The electrical heating is limited in capacity, the fireplace made it comfortable. Wood had to be bought. Hide

A quaint cottage in a lovely location for low land walks on your doorstep, but still close enough to get in and explore the wider mountains.

Comfy enough although parking can be an issue as it is first come, first served when getting back to the cottage after a day out even on the road outside. We had to park 100 yds down the road 95% of the time. Direction intructionson the HC website is not correct. The house was generally well equipped and comfortable. It was good value for money. Some things could have been a bit cleaner. The internet signal is erratic, so I wouldn't rely on it for working, for example. The town is a great location for exploring the wider area. There's a beautiful lake up the hill amongst the old slate mines. Overall the expRead moreerience was very impersonal - you get the keys from the key box and leave them again afterwards, and there's no 'tips + information' pack or anything. Hide

Pretty little holiday cottage, perfect for a few days, the location was perfectly suited for our walking needs. Parking is really limited, as you would expect, and the lack of space to hang/dry anything made dealing with the wet weather a little tricky. Otherwise perfect.
