Enjoy an unforgettable stay on the pretty Pembrokeshire Coast, making yourselves at home in this charming former quarry worker’s cottage. This picturesque property is ideal for a romantic break with your beloved canine companion, sleeping two guests and one dog. Put tired feet (and paws) up in the comfortable lounge after a long day hiking the Welsh countryside and fetching sticks on the beach.

This picture-perfect cottage offers a quintessential seaside stay, with pretty external stone walls and original features throughout. After a long day out be sure to head straight for the wet room, cleaning wet fur and sandy paws before beginning to unwind. Make use of the well-equipped kitchen to prepare a romantic dinner and food for Fido then retire into the cosy lounge. Enjoy relaxing in front of the TV with man’s best friend curled up by the warming electric fire. In this unique home, you’ll find a bedroom on a mezzanine gallery above the kitchen, where a comfortable king-sized bed is nestled under the eaves of the property. If a restricted head height bothers you then feel free to make use of the sofa bed in the lounge, begrudgingly moving your top dog from their prized spot by the fire.

Enjoy a mosey around the pretty village of Porthgain, visiting the harbour less than 200 metres away, dining outside a seafood bistro or visiting the dog-friendly local pub (both less than 100 metres). Setting off a little further afield, the broad Pembrokeshire Coastal Path offers 186 miles of remarkable walks and stunning landscapes. Along the way visit the Blue Lagoon (2 miles), a flooded former quarry that’s popular with walkers and rock climbers. Man and dog alike will adore a trip to Newgale Sands Beach (9 miles), a shingle stretch often considered one of the best beaches in Wales.

  • 1 bedroom - king-size – restricted height (sofa bed in lounge for alternate sleeping)
  • 1 shower room
  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and washing machine
  • Roadside parking subject to availability
  • Harbour, pub, restaurant and beach within walking distance
  • TV in lounge
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00
  • 1 dog allowed. Additional charges may apply

The cottage was very comfortable and would be very cosy in Autumn/Winter. The kitchen was well equipped and bed is very comfortable. Wet room worked well. Although headroom in the bedroom is very limited, it is fairly easy to get used to. A beautiful location and we will definitely be back!

A lovely little cottage, beautifully restored, which retains plenty of character, whilst providing all modern comforts. (The shower room has been newly updated.) Cozy and comfortable cottage, very well equipped and in a beautiful location. Idyllic retreat for the two of us. Thoroughly enjoyed The Sloop pub and The Fish Shed, wonderful food in both. Fantastic walks just outside the door. We will return hopefully!

A cosy, welcoming, well appointed cottage. Perfect for exploring the St David's peninsula and Northern Pembrokeshire, or simply for relaxing and enjoying Porthgain, the coast path, and a pint or two in The Sloop. The owners couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome (the bread, butter, milk, and tea waiting for us made for perfect post-arrivalRead more tea and toast!), and were friendly and helpful . The bedroom does have restricted headroom, but I'm 6' 3" and managed to avoid banging my head! Hide

A 175 year old workers cottage built for practicality so is very small, still very nice & ideally situated for walks around Porthgain & visiting the Sloop & The Shed. The bedroom has been built into the roof space so there really is little headroom, at 5' 4" even I banged my head but you get used to it. The cottage had everything we needed. It was comfortable, warm and cozy. The location was perfect. A bistro and a great pub literally steps away from our front door. The Pembrokeshire coastline also passed within yards of the house. Literally perfection.

Such a lovely little village, and the cottage is perfect. Excellent facilities, it's got everything to make it cosy and comfortable. And there's a path just yards from the cottage leading up to the coast path on the cliffs.

A perfect cottage for two. Much bigger inside than it looks from the road. Very comfortable and well equipped with all you need. Only problem of which we were aware are the beams in the bedroom although ok if you take care. Great position on coastal path and for The Sloop and The Shed!!! A great place for a relaxing week away.
