What a glorious holiday let. Stunning! Nice layout, good furniture, fantastic bed, lovely outdoor seating area. The Aga was a challenge LOL, but I had mastered it mid-week. If you are use to gas and electric like me, you will find the Aga a little slow, but like the Tortoise and the Hare, the Aga is a winner. However, it makes the room hot during Read morethe day and opening windows a must. Perfect for the evening as it stays warm and cosy. Hide

We loved our stay at Granary Cottage and honestly couldn't fault the building or facilities. Everything you could need is provided and the detailed instructions - received by email, and also in a folder on-site - are extremely helpful. It's a beautiful location and we really enjoyed walking our dog round the lanes. We also managed to walk into ChagRead moreford and back several times as there isn't a great deal of traffic; we sat outside the Three Crowns for drinks and also one evening for meals (the food was delicious) and the picturesque walk there and back makes it extra special. Chagford itself is lovely to wander round, too, and is full of independent shops, cafes, and delis, plus three dog friendly pubs. The one thing we would say is that if you're a nervous driver, be aware that the lanes to and from the cottage (and Chagford itself) are narrow and winding, and you do sometimes meet other vehicles going quite fast. It's also a tricky turn into the courtyard if you have a medium/large car; coming from Chagford we had to go into the lane opposite and turn around, so we were facing it directly. If we hadn't, we definitely couldn't have made the right-hand turn through the gates without clipping the wall. Equally, if you're parked in one of the two allocated spaces then you may need to do the same - turn round in the courtyard so you're facing the drive/gates - to be able to safely get out. We really did enjoy our stay and we hope to return in the future. Hide

Beautiful cottage, so very quiet and good walks from your doorstep. Great location, Chagford was a lovely quaint town, the people in the area so welcoming & friendly, with excellent independent shops. Sunday dinner in the Three Crowns possibly the best we have ever had! Great break.

Granary Cottage is a lovely property. Light, airy, comfortable and very well appointed as well as spotlessly clean, you don't really want for anything. Chagford is a lovely little town with great pubs and independent shops and again, everything you need. Access however, is an issue, being a mile down a single track lane with very few passing placesRead more and high hedges and walls. Likewise, the walk into town, whilst it only takes about 25-30 minutes, is rather a slog along the same lane. Hide

This cottage is perfect! It is really nice and cosy. The showers are great, lots of hot water and the large bed was very comfy. The kitchen is fully equipped, eggs, butter and milk left for us in the fridge. AGA may look scary but is very easy to use and heats the whole upper floor. The outside patio is nice with nice chairs and table. The other coRead morettages are beautifully maintained and its very quiet. The location is perfect, very close to Chagford and Dartmoor. We will definitely come back. Hide

Lovely cottage in the middle of nowhere and beautifully tranquil. Gorgeous doggie walks near by along the river Teign even in drizzle as mostly under a tree canopy. The AGA worked well once we learned how to use it and the owners looked after us very well during our stay. We also took fairly local trips to Salcombe, Haytors Tor, Bidbury on Sea and across Dartmoor all highly recommended. Hide

We had a lovely week in Granary Cottage with our two dogs. Chagford is the most friendliest village with great pubs serving fabulous food. If you like a rural location with facilities nearby and Dartmoor on your doorstep, then this is the perfect cottage.

What a delightful cottage, very comfortable king size bed and so warm with the Aga at nighttime, we didn't need any extra heating in the upstairs accommodation, bonus that it has two parking places directly out side the property. We have two big dogs and I was very happy with the pet friendly policy of the cottage. Beautiful location with many walkRead mores from and surrounding areas. Chagford has good restaurants and pubs with, a good mix of shops so you don't have to look further a field whist there. Hide
