With beachfront walks straight from your front doorstep, the idyllic location of this Scandinavian-style lodge will have tails wagging in delight. Set in the tranquil village of Llansteffan, there are wonderful walks on offer, including a challenging route to the ruined 12th-century castle that dominates the village skyline. Perfect for couples seeking a coastal retreat with their canine companion, this lodge offers snug accommodation in the perfect setting for exploring West Wales. Enjoy a long stroll along the beach, before sharing a bag of chips on the waterfront, spend the day discovering the harbour town of Tenby or surf the waves at Manorbier.

Your Nordic-style detached lodge has open-plan accommodation with a light and airy feel, and contemporary styling. After a day of exploration, snuggle up together on the cosy sofa, light the wood burner and let your hound snooze at your feet as you relax in front of the TV. The compact kitchen is perfect to prepare tea for two, and the centrally positioned dining table means you are never far from your pup’s sight. When it’s time for bed, enjoy a soak in the bathtub before curling up in the king-size bedroom. Outside, you can enjoy a morning cup of tea on the decking while your four-legged friend stretches their legs in the garden area.

Explore the landscape that inspired Dylan Thomas at the ancient town of Laugharne (14.5 miles) where you can stroll the beach, walk up to the castle or sample some of the local brews in one of the town’s traditional inns where dogs are welcome. Take your pup on ‘Doggy Day’ every week at the National Botanical Gardens (16 miles) and wander around the 568 acres of grounds and displays, letting them sniff out their favourite flower.

The location of the cottage is lovely. The approach road is rugged. It is currently let down by the external appearance but a pleasant surprise once inside, its clean and well equipped.

Outside is nothing special but when you open the front door the WOW factor kicks in. It's done out beautifully, the chaise is perfect for relaxing. The shower is powerful and everywhere was spotless. Super little place, well equipped, wonderfully positioned and very clean. We were lucky, the sun was shining. Bring plenty of food, the village shop has a limited range. The chippy is probably the best one I have ever used!

Fabulous wee cabin in a fantastic location. Pretty much everything you would want for a relaxing break. Cottage is beautifully decorated and easy to keep clean (essential if, like us, you bring your dog). Bed was super comfy and kitchen well equipped. Enjoyed my stay very much, nice to have a dishwasher as well and a small supply of tablets for it, good base to travel from even though the access road is not the best. I would definitely recommend and stay again, ideal for either one person or a couple.

This is a lovely comfortable property in a very quiet area. Ideal for a quiet getaway. Two minutes walk to the beach, 20 mins to the village. It is a long drive down a very rugged track - not for the faint hearted! But definitely worth it. The castle is worth visiting for its fabulous views. We ate at the Inn at the Sticks - lovely food and serviceRead more . There are lots of spectacular beaches around if you want to drive, we found exploring the immediate area was enough for us. Highly recommend this. Hide

The location is perfect, a few minutes walk to the beach where you can watch the tide coming and going along the beautiful estuary. The cottage is perfectly well set up for two of us. We'll be back again soon.
