The beautiful stone semi detached  property benefits from a quiet rural location, perfect for escaping from it all with your nearest and dearest. The cottage sleeps six guests and two dogs, and you’ll be within easy reach of some fantastic walks, both at the coast, where you’ll find long sandy beaches and clifftop paths, and within the stunning Exmoor National Park (both less than 15 miles away). Family attractions such as The Big Sheep and The Milky Way are within 25 miles.

The 16th-century cottage is bursting with character and has been lovingly maintained to highlight the gorgeous original features. Exposed wood adds warmth to each area, particularly in the cosy lounge with its roaring wood burner – the perfect spot for the woofers to doze after a long walk. From the kitchen, a stable door opens onto the pretty garden which features a large lawned area and patio complete with BBQ and chiminea for al fresco dining. Being a traditional thatched property, expect to find some reduced head space in some areas, as well as cottage-style stairs leading to the bedrooms.

For spectacular views across Dartmoor and Exmoor, park the car in Bishop’s Tawton (3 miles away) and head up Codden Hill. Rising to 190 metres, it’s an excellent vantage point and guaranteed to get the heart beating. Afterwards, return to the village for a hearty meal in the popular dog-friendly pub. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to dog-friendly beaches in North Devon. For the wow factor, journey 13 miles to Saunton Sands and Braunton Burrows. With 3.5 miles of free-run sand, as well as a dramatic backdrop of sand dunes to explore, it’s an absolute haven for the hounds. It’s also a surfing hotspot and a real family favourite, with a row of colourful beach huts available to hire during the summer.

Lovely cottage which stayed very cool despite being during a heatwave. Very well equipped cottage that was very spacious. The garden was great for our two dogs. Lots of wildlife seen.

Lovely cosy cottage with a great enclosed garden for dogs, very quiet and relaxing, a great suprise when not only pheasant but a red legged partridge appeared in the garden! Good suntrap on a sunny day . Everything you need at the cottage including a large wood burner and wood supplied and would definitely come back.

This was such a welcome break. The cottage was spotlessly clean, tidy and everything we could have wanted was available to us, we were quite sad to leave! The garden was well maintained and secure, so our Frenchie has a great time soaking up the sun and enjoyed the space. Absolutely will rebook

Other than the garden everything else was great. As we spent a lot of time in the garden it s neglected state came up frequently in conversation.

If you are not a confident driver on narrow single lane tracks and happy to reverse around blind corners, this isn't the cottage for you. We really loved the cottage. It was the perfect size for our group. It was slightly further out in the countryside than we had realised but this didnt affect our stay. The cottage has everything we needed including a high chair and travel cot, beds were comfy and we loved relaxing by the fire of an evening!

Great cottage for dogs with a nicely sized secure garden. Has neighbours but you really wouldnt know, it is very private with very little traffic at all. The access lanes are narrow but very little traffic so manageable. Its centrally placed with beaches approx a 30 minute drive away. There dont seem to be any walks direct from the cottage so we drRead moreove out most days to find some decent walking trails. The cottage is very well equipped Would use again Hide

Lovely thatched cottage in a quiet location with all modern conveniences. Very peaceful private garden which was dog friendly. The single track lane took a bit of getting used to! The welcome cake was a nice touch when we arrived. Some great dog friendly beaches within easy reach. Perfect for a relaxing break and the lovely weather was a bonus.
