The house is clean and well equipped. The stairs are steep and not really suitable for people with mobility issues. It's in a good position and the owner who lives in an adjoining house was very helpful with getting the recycling right. The house instructions are out of date when it comes to dealing with rubbish. Cleanliness was good and the owner was very quick in responding to any problems. Beautiful area for walking and exploring. Pleasant sitting-out and play area for children in the garden. We felt the house would be more suitable for a family than for older people.

Such accommodating hosts. Friendly, clear communication throughout. Went the extra mile to make our family stay the best it could be. Gorgeous house, so much room for us as a family of eight. Tonnes of outdoor space for the kids.

Lovely spacious house, great location, (just note that there is no games chest or Wii). We had a great time, the kids loved The Milky Way, The Big Sheep and Watermouth Castle and Monster Slip and Slide in Barnstaple. Maurice was charming and very helpful. Lovely surprise of scones, jam and cream on arrival. Few issues which we have raised privatelyRead more with the owner so hopefully they can be addressed for the benefit of other holidaymakers. Hide

Great house for a large number of guests - lots of space and very well appointed. Benefits from a large sociable lounge area, games room basement and an outside hot tub. Lovely quiet road but Bideford town within walking distance. Great base for exploring the local area.

A family group of 10 of us and 2 dogs visited over Easter weekend and had a super stay. We loved spending Christmas at Beacon Cottage. It was a wonderful place to get the extended family together, and an easy walk into Bideford as an added bonus! We enjoyed walks down to the waterfront and stunning views from the house. I would definitely recommend it and would love to return with a group again. It's fantastic for family holidays

Its a great property if travelling as a large group or with several families. Having as many bathrooms meant we had our own spaces. We used the large dining table for many meals and the games room was well used plus we watched the massive TV. The big garden was great for the two dogs and the hot tub, although very hot, was also used a few times. We had a lovely holiday at Beacon house. It was clean and tidy and fairly well equipped. My only criticism is the design of the 4 stair gates, which. are a serious trip hazard whilst going up and down the stairs.
