At Great Torrington (11 miles) you can join the Tarka Trail, a former railway which is now a cycling and walking path taking in lovely scenery. Appledore (3 miles) and Clovelly (12 miles) are traditional fishing towns with charming cobbled streets, that are both worth exploring.
