Admire the high rolling valley views of Llandovery which surround this delightful detached country cottage. Atmospheric mountains tempt you to pull on your boots, grab a handful of treats and explore this wild and untamed countryside – a walker and their trusty companion’s paradise. Situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, nothing is fenced off so get ready to unleash your family’s adventurous side. Braving the elements is rewarded with the cottage’s not one, but two, roaring wood burners, creating a cosy retreat for heavy heads and tired paws.
The cottage is packed with characterful charm which you can enjoy as you drink your morning coffee in the comfortable snug, gazing across the woodland views. With charming exposed beams, the bright and airy lounge is perfect for reading a book and becomes a cosy haven in the evening for your hound to slumber at your feet. Up a step lies a well-equipped galley kitchen, with everything you could need to fuel the family. Unpredictable Welsh weather is not a problem, with a handy boot room and washer/dryer to freshen up walking gear. Muddy four-pawed pals can get some spa treatments too in the ground floor shower room. Mature gardens provide ideal surroundings for al fresco dining - light the chimenea as the sun goes down. A lower-level lawn is perfect for ball-throwing.
A country pub, located at the end of the drive, may be all you require, but 7 miles away the pretty town of Llandovery has independent shops and restaurants to sample, and a short climb up to Llandovery Castle in the town centre is worth the hike for the views. Take the time to visit the RSPB Nature Reserve at Gwenffrwd-Dinas, 3.5 miles away, which welcomes dogs on leads but be aware, some parts are rugged and steep.
