Receive a warm welcome at this bolthole as you arrive to traditional scones with all the trimmings. Step inside and settle down in this home, which welcomes guests with both two and four legs, and get planning tomorrow’s adventures. An abundance of fantastic stick-chasing, wave-splashing and cliff-wandering spots lie within easy reach, with beaches and seaside villages dotting the local landscape.

Open-plan living makes good use of the ground-floor space; snuggle up on the sofa, switch on the TV or tickle a furry tummy in the light-filled lounge before heading to the kitchen to rustle up a feast. Gaze over the garden as you blend flavours and cook up a storm and on warmer days, throw open the door which leads outside via a step down and enjoy the fresh air. Climb the stairs to reach the mezzanine-level master bedroom which overlooks the living space below. Sloping ceilings add quirk and charm although headroom is slightly restricted.

Summer months call for evenings spent on the patio garden, for your canine chum so they can sniff out new scents to their heart’s. For a taste of maritime magic head to the harbour town of Ilfracombe, 4 miles from home, where you can take a boat trip, roam the winding streets or enjoy a tasty ice cream. Splash in the sea and chase sticks 10 miles away at Woolacombe then hunt out the secluded cove of Barricane to catch the sunset.

The Old Dogs House is a lovely, well eqipped cottage in a lovely village. This was a beautiful, well equipped cottage in a very quiet location. It was very close to a few local pubs which were lovely and close to a couple of small beaches. Try out The Storm in a Teacup cafe on Watermouth Harbour. All in all a beautiful holiday.

Lovely, homely cottage - big enough for 2 + dog. Absolutely stunning location and a good base for coast or moors.

We had a lovely few days away at The Old Dogs House at this dog-friendly cottage. The accommodation was spotless and was easy to find with a local shop and pub close by in the local village. Ilfracombe was a short car drive away as was Coombes Martin, with lots of lovely walks and plenty to do. We would thoroughly recommend eating at Sawmills FreehRead moreouse, where we ate several times during our stay and which is also dog friendly. We will definitely look at staying again in the future. Absolutely superb conversion, clean tidy and comfortable. Super nice village with an amazing pub. Highly recommend but it's only a little off the beaten track so you endure some tricky Devon roads. However a nice pint at that pub makes it worthwhile.
