This charming property, situated just half a mile from the impressive Cynghordy Viaduct, is ideal for families or groups of friends – not forgetting the canine ones, of course! Sleeping five across three cosy bedrooms and with plenty of space for two dogs, it won’t be long before you’re off down one of the many walking trails nearby. Take in the viaduct from a 2-mile circular walk starting at Cynghordy Railway Station (2 miles), or try the longer 7-mile Heart of Wales Line Trail that also starts there.

The property, which is ideal for large groups since it can be booked with other properties on-site accommodating up to 29, is spacious and contemporary. The large kitchen is ideal for group meals where everyone joins in, while the comfortable sofas in the lounge area beckon you to sink back and gaze out of the large window across the fields, the pups curled up by your feet. Fire up the BBQ on sunny days as the dogs run around on the lawn, before heading to the shared indoor hot tub for a luxury soak. And when it’s time for bed, the peaceful bedrooms have soft, neutral decor that will help you drift off to sleep and wake up refreshed and ready for the day ahead.

Visit the National Trust’s Dolaucothi Gold Mines (16.5 miles), where you can see the remnants of the Romans’ gold-mining methods, but also go on some stunning walks around deeply wooded hillsides overlooking the Cothi Valley. The National Showcaves Centre for Wales (26 miles) is also a must-visit, especially if you have the kids with you, and pups are welcome to join you in all the caves. Take quiet strolls around the ruins of Dinefwr Castle (20 miles) before stopping for a bite at their cafe.

We stayed at the cottage for a long weekend. The weather was lovely and it is set in a beautiful part of Wales, very unspoilt and peaceful. The cottage is spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. The owners sent detailed instructions on how to get there and things to do whilst we were there. We brought our dog and felt at ease, with cleaRead morer instructions as to what we could or couldn't do with him . Would definitely visit again. Hide

We had a wonderful time! The location was tranquil and Lucy is extremely accommodating. Being able to take our dog, on a lead, through their fields was an absolute bonus. Diolch yn fawr iawn for giving us the opportunity to spend quality time at your 'home'. Btw, the hot tub is well worth a visit.

Very comfortable and large size cottage with plenty of room for 5 grown-ups and we also brought 2 dogs. Helpful and friendly owners. Quiet rural area with a town a short drive away for local shops including a large Co-Op.
