Two dogs are welcome at this gorgeous Welsh holiday home with a view – they’ll love leading the way on long, satisfying walks along the Welsh Coast Path, accessible just 0.5 miles from your front door. Aberdovey is a wonderful place to spend a few days, with its welcoming pubs and four-mile-long golden sand beach (0.5 miles), which has sections that are dog-friendly all year round.

Once the staff house of Penhelig Lodge, the accommodation exudes old-world charm with period features like thick walls and an original fireplace. It’s been thoughtfully restored to create a homely atmosphere, starting with the welcoming lounge where sofas, a TV and a DVD player await. A multi-fuel stove helps you create a wonderful snooze spot for your pet. Head through an open archway, to reach the kitchen/diner, which is well-equipped for meal preparation. The cottage sits on a steep slope, offering truly spectacular views. Please watch out for pets and children in the unenclosed garden space, which is set across two tiers – the top one being yours only and rest of the garden shared. Patio and garden furniture sets you up for sunny relaxation with your furry friend lounging on the grass.

The town is accessible via a steep path down to Aberdovey village. Locally, you can immerse yourself in the friendly local atmosphere, enjoy fresh seafood at dusk or engage in crabbing and various water sports with your pet nearby. Aberdovey’s location at the southernmost tip of Snowdonia National Park makes it wonderful for hikers and explorers of both the canine and human variety – you’ll have numerous trails like Yr Horon, Panorama Walk and Llyn Barfog (Bearded Lake) starting right from your doorstep.

Cara Cottage had absolutely everything for us and our little dog. It was very well equipped, both in the kitchen and all rooms of the house. Very comfortable lounge and bedrooms. The view overlooking the estuary was a delight to wake up to each morning. Great communication with the host throughout.

Cora cottage has a prime position overlooking the estuary, close to the shops and beach. Aberdyfi is a charming village, even though dessicated by second homes and holiday lets. Very clean property and well equipped - good standard of beds - access is very steep but lovely views but note garden is not fully enclosed and could do with fencing where some of the garden meets a sheet drop below

A lovely cottage with the most amazing views; we loved laying in bed whilst watching the dawn. Beds and furniture all very comfy and had everything we needed in the kitchen (we prefer to cook rather than go out). Once we parked the car, we didn't use it at all for the duration of our stay but used trains & buses to get around.

This is a lovely property, very clean, cosy and exceptionally well equipped. There are wonderful views from the lounge, main bedroom and garden. It is only a few minutes walk from the main village which has a few shops, a pub and good places to eat. There is a very extensive and remarkably clean beach. Its the 4th time we stay at this cottage and definitely not the last time. Its impossible to not quiet your mind here. The cottage is so well equipped and comfortable its home away from home. The views are unbelievable, I can just stare for hours!!

Stunning views across the estuary. Shared access rights have potential to be slightly awkward, but we had no issues. Arriving after dark is not recommended as the pathway is very dark, quite steep and slippery when wet.
