The cottage is set within peaceful landscaped grounds, with magnificent views across the Wye Valley and the Begwn Hills. The property sleeps six guests and one canine companion, making it perfect for large family getaways or holidays with friends. Discover endless walking opportunities in the 500 acres of the Begwn Hills (8.5 miles) or spend a lazy afternoon on the banks of the River Wye in Glasbury (2 miles).

A flight of steps leads from the parking area to this magnificent property. The cottage is decorated in a contemporary style, with light and bright interiors and tasteful soft furnishings. The welcoming lounge features plump sofas to sink into after a long walk, as well as a roaring wood burner and underfloor heating, which the hound will love curling up on for a little snooze. There’s ample room in the stylish kitchen for the pup’s bed and there’s also a handy utility room for storing all your dog-walking gear. Outside, a few steps lead down to the elevated terrace, where you can sit with a glass of wine and admire the landscaped grounds and the Wye Valley and Begwn Hills beyond. Please note, the garden is not enclosed.

Journey to Painscastle (8 miles) to enjoy a 2-mile loop through the Begwn Hills. From The Roundabout you will be treated to views right across the Brecon Beacons. On a sunny afternoon, pack a picnic and head to the shingle banks of the River Wye. You and your four-legged friend can paddle in the water, sunbathe and even partake in a spot of wild swimming. There’s also a fantastic paw-friendly pub nearby for refreshments afterwards. If that gets you in the mood for more water-related activities, head to Llangorse Lake (10.5 miles), where you and Rover can hire a canoe, dinghy or rowing boat.

Great cottage, very clean and tidy. Really well equipped with everything needed. Good location, beautiful views, lovely and peaceful. Welsh cakes and shortbread were a lovely addition on arrival. Would definitely stay again.

Common Cottage is a wonderful place to stay, we are so glad we found it and will most definitely return. The cottage is cozy and lovely, it has everything you need and is beautiful too. This is one of the best holiday homes we have ever been to. A high level of equipment. Everything in the best condition. The owners have taken a great deal of trouble to reach the highest of standards. The views are uplifting and restful and we hope to go back again before long. We are happy to recommend this holiday home to anyone.

This is a delightful, well equipped and comfortable cottage with stunning views. This was our second visit, unusual for us as we generally like to visit new locations but this is perfect. Common Cottage is just perfect its a real home from home has everything you need for a homely, comfortable, peaceful getaway and in a great location for exploring the area. Our dog loved chilling out in the cosy lounge or in his bed with under floor heating in the kitchen after a day out exploring. We also enjoyed having leisurely breakfast in the Read morewell equipped kitchen, then returning to a warm comfortable evening in the lounge and a comfortable nights sleep. Fantastic cottage - really recommend it. Beautiful views including the River Wye. Very well presented and comfortable - real home from home with lovely homely touches including some gorgeous Welsh cakes when we arrived.

This cottage is of an high standerd. Spacious, quiet, lovely vieuws, a lawn and terrace to sit. Nearby Hay-on-wye which we found the most lively village in the surroundings. The brecon beacons nearby. We reccomend this cottage as very good!
