A flight of steps leads from the parking area to this magnificent property. The cottage is decorated in a contemporary style, with light and bright interiors and tasteful soft furnishings. The welcoming lounge features plump sofas to sink into after a long walk, as well as a roaring wood burner and underfloor heating, which the hound will love curling up on for a little snooze. There’s ample room in the stylish kitchen for the pup’s bed and there’s also a handy utility room for storing all your dog-walking gear. Outside, a few steps lead down to the elevated terrace, where you can sit with a glass of wine and admire the landscaped grounds and the Wye Valley and Begwn Hills beyond. Journey to Painscastle (8 miles) to enjoy a 2-mile loop through the Begwn Hills. From The Roundabout you will be treated to views right across the Brecon Beacons. On a sunny afternoon, pack a picnic and head to the shingle banks of the River Wye. You and your four-legged friend can paddle in the water, sunbathe and even partake in a spot of wild swimming. There’s also a fantastic paw-friendly pub nearby for refreshments afterwards. If that gets you in the mood for more water-related activities, head to Llangorse Lake (10.5 miles), where you and Rover can hire a canoe, dinghy or rowing boat.
