Llandovery has several great pubs, some dog-friendly, restaurants and independent shops, and is the site of the ruins of a 13th-century castle. Grab the lead and put on walking boots to explore Wales’ much-loved countryside. Prepare mountain bikes for trips to the Brecon Beacons, or explore on-lead the 18th-century landscape surrounding Dinefwr Castle (14 miles). Find waterfront walks by the Usk Reservoir (12.5 miles) or for the more energetic canines, tackle Pen Y Fan (22 miles) the tallest peak in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
