  • Nestled in a scenic valley within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
  • Fishing available on a private stretch of the River Nidd

Property code: OC-DS127

Part of a Grade-II listed farmstead built in 1870, this stylish single-storey cottage is situated in a lovely valley close to the River Nidd, surrounded by open countryside perfect for long walkies with your four-pawed third wheel. It’s bursting with stye and elegance, creating the perfect base for adventures with your canine companion in tow.

As your day ends, you won’t be able to resist the calming call of the stylish yet soothing open-plan living/dining room where your dog can curl up on your lap as you hunker down for the evening on one of the comfy seats and watch a film on the TV. A rug next to the farmhouse-style dining table is the perfect place for your pup to rest as you enjoy a family meal prepared in the well-equipped and quaint kitchen opposite. Retreat to the master en-suite bedroom, or either of the remaining two bedrooms that feature plenty of room for Rover’s bed and beautiful exposed wooden beams. Outside, unleash your four-legged friend into the patio area to let off some steam before bedtime whilst you dine alfresco to soak up the stunning scenery that surrounds you.

Nestled in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the market town of Pateley Bridge is the starting and finishing point on the Nidderdale Way, a circular route that covers 53 miles, looping around the stunning scenery of the Nidd Valley. Promenade with your canine companion through the town centre, 1 mile away, to enjoy several quaint tearooms and independent shops, plus England’s oldest sweet shop. Take the lead to Brimham Rocks 4 miles away, a unique collection of towering rocks scattered across 50 acres of moorland that you can explore with your four-pawed third wheel in tow.

I slept in the twin bedroom and the outside light was outside the window. It was very bright. Black out blinds would have helped as it couldn't be switched off for safety I suppose.

Lovely cottage and owner on hand and happy to resolve any problems (due to family illness we needed to bring our grandson with us and owner went out her way to accommodate him at no extra cost) Also fair price. Nice shops nearby too. Good weather helped.

Woodpecker is a lovely cottage and Jenny the owner could not have been more helpful or considerate. The day we were due to leave was when storm Bert hit and she insisted that we stayed in the cottage until the weather had improved and the roads were clear. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you.
