Immerse yourself in the gorgeous setting of this charming period home in Gunn, 5.5 miles from Barnstaple, where up to three dogs will delight in the spacious garden. Up to eight guests will also relish the four-bedroom home, with its games room, wood burner and original features. Enjoy days out in Devon from your beautiful base; head to the seaside, follow the South West Coast Path and set tails wagging by exploring the Exmoor National Park.

Give your furry friends a good rub down, hang their leads in the hall and make your way into the split-level, ground-floor accommodation. Climb a few stairs into the lounge to watch your Smart TV while your pup pals stretch out. Cook up treats in your stylish kitchen, then serve at the table in the dining room or the conservatory, where you can open the garden doors to let the fresh air in. Call the pups to keep you company in the games room while you switch on the wood burner-effect electric fire and play pool. A shower room is located here too. You’ll find all four bedrooms on the first floor, together with the family bathroom. Spill out into the enclosed garden to throw balls for the pups, light the BBQ and toast yourselves by the chiminea in the evening.

On summer days make your way to Saunton Sands, 13 miles away, where your pals can bound along the 3.5-mile stretch of beach throughout the year. Pick up the South West Coast Path here and embark upon a 4.5-mile circular walk, which will take you to Croyde and Saunton Down, and give you magnificent views across Bideford Bay, the Taw and Torridge Estuary. Drive approximately 5 miles to the edge of Exmoor National Park; venture in to find a myriad of footpaths through stunning landscapes.

Absolutely stunning garden and a large house in a great location for easy access to Barnstaple and nice walks along the Tarka trail. Our dogs adored the garden with so many nooks to explore and it was lovely hearing/seeing the wildlife (owls, other birds & butterflies) in it too. It's an old North Devon house, so quirks (steep/shallow stairs, patchRead morey wifi through thick walls, etc) are to be expected and entirely manageable once you get used to the house. Great house for gathering but being able to have your own space (multiple places to sit & eat, a couple of lounging areas) etc. Hide

Our stay at Gunn Cottage was perfect, lots of places to relax, anything we needed was provided with extra touches added in, we would definitely recommend and return ourselves, very centrally located so plenty of things to do and see with some amazing food to sit and enjoy in one of the many recommended pubs nearby, thank you for a very lovely holidRead moreay. Fabulous spacious cottage and lovely welcome pack. Kitchen well equipped. Unfortunately there was some issues with pool/air hockey table which was one of the main attractions for us. Very disappointed.Beautiful gardens but road parking outside the church for 3 vehicles isnt ideal. We walked to the nearest pub once which took nearly an hour and the Read morewalk back felt longer in the dark. As much as it was a beautiful cottage we wouldnt stay there again. We felt it was over priced for what it was. Hide

What an amazing cottage with a great garden. We all enjoyed the space inside and outside lovely and peaceful. The garden was great for the dog all secure so he couldn't get out. Would definitely stay at Gunn Cottage again .

Spacious cottage which is nicely laid out and pretty well equipped. We visited Combe Martin, Lynton & Lynmouth, Saunton. Ilfracombe, all of these were around a 30 minute drive from the property. Nice welcome with a homemade cake and tea/coffee/milk which is always appreciated. Set in a good central location for North Devon, Gunn Cottage is great for families with its different confortable rooms and facilites, and an interesting garden. Easy dog walks on adjacent lanes or further afield.

This is a beautiful cottage in a lovely location. The wondeful garden because the cotage was advertised as "Dog Safe". I t was spoiled because our dog escaped on to a busy 60mph country road. This cottage would make make a good holiday place for children and animals subject to the hole in the fence being repaired.

A really lovely property and perfect place to relax and unwind together as a family. Garden is beautiful and tranquil. The cottage has enormous character and charm. Also a great base to get out and about to explore beautiful north Devon. The grown ups, the teenagers and our canine companion all very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend it!
