This comfortable barn conversion is ideal for families, especially its four-legged members! Set just 10 miles from the rugged wilderness of the Brecon Beacons National Park and 7 miles from the iconic literature hub of Hay-on-Wye, it is a wonderful destination for exploring. Sniff out exciting walks through pockets of ancient woodland and along the River Wye, refuelling at village pubs. Your home-away-from-home is equipped with all the essentials ten humans and an accompanying canine may need, and there’s a shared outside space for al fresco fun.

Step inside to find a spacious retreat characterised by wooden beams and socialising spots. Fido can snuggle by your feet as you watch films in the lounge/diner, and there’s more than enough seating for feasts at the table – don’t forget to slip him a few morsels! Budding chefs can cook up a storm in the kitchen, or why not head outside to the shared picnic area for a BBQ. The children can let off some steam in the play area as you unwind over a bottle of wine. At bedtime, choose from a downstairs bedroom with stepped access and an en-suite, or head upstairs to select from four bedrooms with sloped ceilings and en-suites. Part of a complex of properties, the barn can be booked in conjunction with the neighbouring property and is connected by an interlinking door.

Fill your itinerary with day trips and scenic walks, selecting hound-approved destinations so that the whole pack can join in on the fun. Step back in time and marvel at the remnants of the impressive Bronllys Castle 4 miles away or discover the waterfalls at Pwll y Wrach Nature Reserve 5.5 miles away. Hay-on-Wye is a wonderful place to potter amongst the numerous bookshops, or time your visit with the annual festival to celebrate literature.

We had a lovely stay, beautiful location near to the Brecon Beacons, Hay on Wye and so much more. The hosts were so friendly and helpful, and the house was perfect for our family group of 8 adults, 2 kids and a baby!

Five of us on a walking holiday and each wanting an ensuite room to ourself found this ticked all the boxes. Hot water and heating up to recovering core temperature after a draughty day on the Pen y Fan horseshoe. Pubs ranging from hearty fare to gastro within a five mile radius and the kitchen up to a good standard for self catering. No downsidRead moree surprises, everything worked and the hosts are pleasant, sensible and onsite. Hide

This place is ideal for a large group of adults. We were 5 couples and the 5 double rooms worked well for us. The lounge was large enough for the group, it had loads of parking space and the kitchen had everything we needed. The extra 'beer fridge' was very useful too. ;-)

There was plenty of room for all of us {10}, John and Chris welcomed us on arrival and there was milk in the fridge ready for us. Plenty of room to park, at one stage we had 4 cars parked. The house was spotlessly clean and well thought out and equipped. There were picnic benches in the paddock and as the weather was so warm we ate outside quite a Read morefew evenings. Hide

The photos of this house do not fully prepare you for just how spacious it is. The main purpose of our trip was to have a family get-together. Not only was there ample parking space for eight cars there was enough seating in the living room for 16 people to eat and talk whilst the huge dining table held a buffet lunch with plenty of plates and cutlRead moreery. Sadly the weather was awful and we only got one glimpse of the lovely view of the Brecon Beacons. Would love to visit again with time to explore. Hide
