Inside, there is a cosy lounge with Smart TV and DVD for when the evenings are too chilly for sitting outside. The open-plan kitchen and dining area is fully equipped with everything you may need to cook up a storm and entertain. There is also a downstairs WC for ease.

It’s 8 miles to Bude where you will find shops, restaurants, pubs and eateries as well as plenty of beaches. Sandymouth Bay, Widemouth Bay and Duckpool Beach allow dogs off the lead all year round. 10 miles from the property is Tamar Lakes, just over the Cornwall border. A friendly host who was great to chat with. An absolutely great location providing good accommodation. The opportunity to walk your dog away from any road although the road was comparatively free of traffic. If you want a location with peace and quiet this is it. It is a working farm but that activity is not intrusive to your stay. It is a few mileRead mores drive to any of the tourist locations but well worth the drive for the peace and quiet you come back to. Hide

Clean, spacious and comfortable. Made very welcome and a cream tea awaited us on arrival. Had a two week stay and was offered clean sheets etc on middle weekend and another cream tea (or a bottle of wine). Lovely and quiet, easy reach (15minutes) to Bude.

We had an enjoyable week staying at Monks Rest. Tony was very friendly and welcoming and the cottage was very comfortable. The 95 bus from Bude can take you to many locations along the coast so you can walk back along the coastal path. Waterproofs are advisable as the weather can change so quickly. For eating out The Rydon Inn and the Molesworth ArRead morems are nearby and serve very good food. Also thank you for the scones, jam and clotted cream treats. Hide
