Spread out and relax in this spacious holiday property, which blends original features with contemporary comforts. Sleeping eight people and two furry companions, it’s located between the market towns of Brecon and Builth Wells, ideally placed for outdoor activities, cultural trips, relaxing walks and exploring the beautiful Brecon countryside.
Exposed-stone walls, old beams and wooden flooring give this home real character, and its large kitchen/diner, boasting a Rayburn cooker, is the place for everyone to gather while a meal is being whipped up. Step up into the main lounge after supper, where there’s a wood burner for cosy evenings in. There’s also a second kitchen and another living area on this floor (the latter having French doors to a decked veranda with lovely country views), plus a king-size bedroom and a wet room. Another three bedrooms are on the first floor, the main one being a super-king-size with gorgeous views, a walk-in wardrobe/dressing room and an en-suite bathroom. There’s also a double and a twin, which have use of a family bathroom. On the first-floor landing you’ll find a games room with table football and a Smart TV, the perfect chill-out spot for youngsters. A lawned garden offers gorgeous views over the valley and the livestock in neighbouring fields. You can sit on the walled terrace or enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub.
Overlooking the scenic Honddu Valley, the cottage is 6.5 miles from the cathedral town of Brecon, where you’ll find a variety of places to eat and drink, independent shops and a lovely canalside walk. In the National Park there are walks of all kinds, from gentle to challenging, while to ring the changes you could venture to the market town of Builth Wells, 11 miles, or to the bookshop-oriented town of Hay-on-Wye, 20 miles.
