This stylish rural retreat sits in the heart of the Lake District, less than 2 miles from the shores of Bassenthwaite. Sleeping four humans and two hounds, it makes a great base for couples and small families seeking outdoor adventure. You’ll be surrounded by the stunning Lakeland fells, with nearby highlights including Skiddaw, Blencathra, and Catbells, all within 10 miles. For shopping and eating out, Keswick is just 6 miles away.
The stone cottage has a bright, open-plan layout and boasts views of the magnificent Lake District landscape. Leave walking boots in the entrance hall, before moving through to the split-level lounge/kitchen/diner. At one end you’ll find a contemporary kitchen area for preparing hearty meals for the group, which you can share at the central dining table. In the evenings, curl up on the sofa to watch a movie on the Smart TV whilst the woofers warm their paws by the cosy wood burner. Upstairs, two inviting bedrooms await - a king-size and a twin - with sloping ceilings and characterful exposed beams. The king-size bedroom has an en-suite shower room and completing the property is a family bathroom. Outside, take a stroll with the hounds around the impressive shared gardens, or find a quiet spot to sit and take in your spectacular surroundings. Private parking is available for four cars.
Journey into the bustling town of Keswick, where you’ll find a good selection of paw-friendly pubs and restaurants. The town sits on the banks of Derwentwater, and you and the pups can enjoy a jaunt across the lake aboard the iconic Keswick Launch. Enjoy dog walks around the gorgeous grounds at Mirehouse (3 miles) or, on a hot day, head for the shade at Dodd Wood (3 miles) or Whinlatter Forest Park (10 miles).
