A charming, end-of-terrace cottage in North Devon’s Westward Ho!, this three-storey retreat is ideal for those who love swimming, surfing, and spending time on the sand. Just 100 metres from the golden beach, the three-bedroom hideaway sleeps six guests and is also ideally located for keen walkers wishing to follow the South West Coast Path. Hike 5 miles over the cliffs to picture-postcard Peppercombe Beach, with its magnificent 280-million-year-old red sandstone cliffs and small waterfall. Step out to shops, dine out, or wander 500 metres to the sea pool for a dip. Head 2.5 miles to Appledore to browse in the colourful independent shops and pause for afternoon tea. Take the pedestrian ferry from here over to Instow in the summer season and stroll along the pretty beach, with its estuary views. Any children in your party will love the Big Sheep Farm and Theme Park, 3 miles away.

Enter the inviting cottage via the front porch, where you can slide off your beach sandals or unlace your walking boots. Make your way into the entrance hall, then stroll on through to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With French doors that can be opened onto the garden in spring and summer and a wood burner for autumn and winter stays, this fabulous space is very much a hub for all seasons. Settle in here to watch the Smart TV, play games, or take turns cooking up hearty feasts. Enjoy the easy indoor/outdoor living offered by this superb room. As night falls on Westward Ho!, climb the stairs to the upper levels of the house, where your inviting bedrooms are situated. Each of these has its own Smart TV, so you can enjoy long, lazy mornings in bed. On the first floor, you will find a twin bedroom, the family bathroom, and a double bedroom boasting the luxury of an en-suite shower room. The lovely king-size bedroom, where you can stargaze through the skylight window, is on the top floor.

The enclosed garden is the perfect place to bask in the sunshine on summer days and dine alfresco on the deck. Unwind in the sauna after long hikes and exciting excursions, then rinse off under the outside shower. You will be provided with a ticket for one car to park in the adjacent public car park. Additional parking can be found in a nearby public car park, subject to availability and for a charge.

5 Stars Excellent Stay! This was our first time in Westward Ho! and our first time in Devon, this cottage was definitely a warm welcome. The place is new, very well decorated, modern, great amenities (kitchen is well equipped, coffee machine, washing machine, TVs, WiFi), the place was very clean, the attention to details is great, great rooms, comfRead moreortable beds, very clean bathrooms, and the space is efficiently used. We found complimentary items when we arrived (jam, crisps, scones, clotted cream, etc.). There is a nice elevated seating arrangement in the backyard, which was great for breakfast or at night to enjoy a cup of tea. There is also a sauna and a shower, but we did not use the sauna, but i'm sure that would be a big plus for renters! The location is great, you just can't go wrong with this one, right next to the car park, few minutes walk from the beach, supermarket, and all the food spots, if you're on a summer vacation and you're main scene is the beach, then this is the place for you, especially with a family, very convenient. Booking process was smooth, the owner was super friendly, easy to reach, decent, and very helpful. There is not a single bad thing to say about the place, it's just perfect, the whole family loved it, would definitely recommend, and whenever we visit Westward Ho! again, that would be our spot!
