Throw a ball for Patch the poodle when he spends his holidays at this thatched Dorset cottage. The Piddlehinton property, which has three bedrooms, sleeps six guests and has an enclosed, lawned garden that he will adore in the summer. Explore the magnificent Dorset countryside together during the colder months, then head back to light the wood burner and warm chilly fur.
Wipe muddy paws before entering the chocolate-box cottage from the rear. Emerge in a kitchen/diner with a beamed ceiling and ample space for Patch to pad about as he waits patiently for his dinner. Find everything you need in here to rustle up meals for everyone else, then gather round the farmhouse table. Make your way through to the lounge with Patch hard on your heels. Let him stretch out on the carpet while you stoke up the wood burner. Flick through the channels on the Smart TV, looking for a gripping movie. A WC is also downstairs. Lead Patch to his bed for the night, then climb the stairs to yours. On the first floor, you have a twin bedroom and two doubles. The family bathroom, with a bath as well as a shower, is also here. Take Patch into the garden to run around before breakfast. Choose whether to have summer lunches on the lower or high patio, which is accessed via a set of steps. There is private, off-road parking here for two cars, accessed via a shared entrance.
Drive to 4.5 miles to Cerne Abbas to take Patch on a 3.5-mile walk, passing the impressive chalk giant as you go. Make a day trip down to the sea to follow a section of the South West Coast Path. Visit Durdle Door, 17 miles away, and Lulworth Cove, 17.5 miles away, while you are here.
