This charming wooden cabin with a hot tub is perfect for a dog-friendly, romantic getaway for two in the sleepy Northumberland countryside. Split your time between the coast and the scenic Northumberland National Park during your time in this cosy and rustic property surrounded by nature.

Climb three steps to reach the porch of this shepherd’s hut and step through the glass doors to reach a characterful open-plan living space with wooden panels from floor to ceiling. Straight ahead is a wood burner to keep you warm during the evenings. To the right, beneath a skylight for watching the stars, you’ll find a king-size bed beside a small wooden dining table with two stools. On the other side of this space is a compact one-wall kitchen with a gas hob, an oven, a fridge, a kettle and a cafetiere. Completing the interior is a full-sized shower room with a walk-in shower. Outside, there’s furniture on the raised decking. Beyond here is a lawned garden with a wood-fired hot tub and a fire pit/BBQ. There is ample private parking.

We wanted to find a cabin where we could relax and recharge for a few days. What a great choice. The cabin was clean and tidy and the hot tub filled and ready for us to light. It takes a good few hours to warm but we knew that would be the case and lit it as soon as we arrived. The views across the fields out to the coast are stunning and siRead moretting in the tub watching the barn owls was somewhat magical. The location is great. A short drive to the coast. You can hear the A1 a little when its busy but didnt stop us relaxing in the private garden. Hide
