This welcoming cottage is an ideal base for couples, friends or families to explore the stunning Solway Coast. At low tide, you can stroll 400 metres along Southerness Beach (just outside your door) to Carsethorn, a small village with a popular pub serving food and drink every day, all year round. Whether you prefer walking, cycling, fishing or mountain biking, it’s easy to get out and about in the great outdoors. There’s also a world-renowned links golf course just 5 miles away. If you have green fingers, take some inspiration from the local gardens to visit, which include Threave Garden & Nature Reserve (21.5 miles), where various garden ‘rooms’ showcase different planting schemes. In the historic market town of Dumfries, 13.5 miles, you can visit the house where Robert Burns wrote some of his best-known poems and explore the wide variety of shops and places to eat.

Overlooking the majestic Solway Coast, this three-storey detached house is located at the end of a private drive. The main entrance is level. From the front hall, head into the open-plan living space, where French doors at the far end draw you to admire the ever-changing sea views. Comfortable seating is arranged around a SkyTV, ready for relaxed entertainment. As well as underfloor heating, a wood burner adds extra warmth and glow on chilly evenings. The central dining area accommodates everyone to enjoy sociable times together, and at the opposite end is a bright kitchen, equipped with everything you’ll need to create delicious holiday meals, including a microwave and an air fryer. For those with mobility issues, there’s a super-king-size bedroom with en-suite wet room on this level, as well as a family bathroom with a freestanding roll-top bath. Head upstairs to find two double bedrooms tucked under the sloping eaves, each of which has an en-suite shower room and a Smart TV. The lower level of this appealing property is accessed via steep, open-tread steps from the balcony. It’s home to a spacious games room (where there’s another Smart TV), a utility room with laundry facilities and another shower room.

A front balcony overlooks an established enclosed garden, accessed by steep steps and featuring a boat slip with direct beach access. Alternative, less steep steps are located on both sides of the house leading to the lower garden. Adding even more appeal to the fabulous house, you’ll have off-road parking for two cars.
