This delightful cottage, situated just outside the Peak District National Park, is the perfect bolthole for couples or small families – including the pups, of course! Sleeping four across two comfortable bedrooms with space for up to two dogs to snooze, it won’t be long before you’re all off exploring this fantastic area. Head to Crich Tramway Village (5 miles) where staff actively encourage your pups to take a tram ride, or go for walkies on the Black Rock and Bolehill circular route that starts just half a mile from your front door.
The property, which lies half a mile from a High Peak Trail joining point, is spacious and airy. The open-plan kitchen diner is fresh and bright with everything you need to cook up a storm during your stay, while exposed beams and an ornamental fireplace surrounding a wood burner-effect electric fire makes for a cosy spot to snuggle up in on a chilly evening. Pups can stretch their legs in the enclosed courtyard while you sit on the bench with an al fresco drink and take in the views. When it’s time for bed, climb the stairs to the peaceful bedrooms that have calming, neutral decor to help you drift off to sleep.
Head up to the Heights of Abraham (3 miles) by cable car and enjoy all the outside attractions with your four-legged friends – they’ll just have to wait outside the caverns. Cromford (1.5 miles) and Matlock Bath (2.5 miles) are super dog friendly; you’ll find plenty of pubs, cafes and shops to explore. Make sure you visit picturesque Bakewell (13 miles) too. Stroll the gardens at Chatsworth House (12 miles), or take a bracing hike with breathtaking views up the famous Mam Tor (30 miles).
