Relax and unwind in this picture-perfect stone cottage located in the heart of the Peak District National Park. A perfect retreat for you and your furry companion, this property sleeps two and welcomes one pooch. Despite being surrounded by countryside, perfect for scampering and fetching sticks, this home-from-home has all the amenities on its doorstep; meaning no one will miss out on any treats.

The bijou, stone-built property embraces modern times but nods to its past by keeping original features such as the staircase. It leads you to a charming bedroom, exuding tranquility and calm, with the modern bathroom adjacent. Downstairs, rest those tired legs on the comfy sofa in the open-plan living area, whilst Fido sprawls out in front of the wood burner and dreams of tomorrow’s walks. Cook up a delicious meal for two in the kitchen/diner and sit around the table and toast to the day’s adventures.

Have a day out in the pretty market town of Bakewell (4 miles) or for a day of culture, explore the dog-friendly gardens of Chatsworth House (5.5 miles). Or stretch Rover’s legs on the endless walks in the area, including the Monsal Trail (2 miles), with its tunnels and viaducts that meander through over 8 miles of the most spectacular limestone dales. After all that hard work, enjoy a drink and mingle with the locals at the dog-friendly pub or sample the area’s treats at the tearoom, also welcoming pooches, both less than 50 metres from your doorstep.

In need of some TLC, black mould on the bathroom wall and rusty radiator. Shame as it would be a lovely little cottage. Great location with lots of walking nearby.

A lovely tiny cosy cottage, had everything we needed! Perfect for the two of us & our doggo (no garden but plenty of grass nearby & dog bin). Comfy beds & the shower was a treat! Only used oven once & very slow so ate at both pubs which were very good. Road parking wasn't an issue as we were mid week. Plenty of walks from the door, would definitelyRead more return! Hide

The cottage is cute, cosy and in a beautiful location. We highly recommend visiting the tearooms next door! The cottage itself is in need of some TLC. It would benefit from a smart TV, and a better equipped kitchen. The oven was very slow so not ideal for eating in. No guidance on what to do with bin bags and dog waste is not ideal and needs to be Read moreadded to the welcome instructions. Although the cottage is in need of some TLC, we would definitely return as it could be made beautiful x Hide

Overall the cottage is cosy, warm and well equipped, although it could do with a little TLC, but we enjoyed our stay and it had everything we needed. Location is excellent. Ashford-in-the-water is a lovely, quaint little village which has a shop, 2 pubs serving good food and a wonderful tea room and is close to everywhere we wanted to visit.
