Beds were comfortable which is important. Shame the weather wasn't great towards the end of our stay. Our dogs enjoyed the garden and out look over Bristol was great.

This cottage promises a lot but does not deliver. Whereas it was very clean the owner has done the minimum to present it for the holiday. The situation so close to Bristol Airport means the cottage is on the flight path and is very noisy. Other users mentioned the road noise which is not so intrusive as the airplanes going over from 6 am to midnRead moreight. The cottage was very clean but if you want to use the dvd player in the tv then take your own, there are none there, no books, no games, nothing. Adequate cooking utensils, and a dishwasher which was useful as there were just enough plates and glasses. Everything was just enough for what you'd need but we've been with Holiday Cottages for many years and have gone to many cottages throughout the country and sadly this is one we wouldn't go back to as we didn't feel it was good value in comparison to many we've stayed at. No contact with anyone to see if all ok though to be fair there was a contact number if things had gone wrong. Silly things like only one bin liner provided for the week and exactly 5 dishwasher tablets made you feel just the minimum was good enough to present to the holidaymaker rather than go the extra mile as other owners have done. Eds Barn provided us with a brilliant base for our 3 week stay in April. The location was perfect for us visiting family in Bristol and also for exploring the surrounding area. The cottage is Well equipped, warm and comfortable with a large garden and off road parking. The views from the upstairs bedroom are incredible over Bristol and beyond anRead mored the downstairs bedroom has a wonderful sunny aspect with patio doors into the garden. The cottage is, as described, right on the road side and it is an extremely busy lane, we did find the volume of traffic from farm vehicles to cars and lorries the only negative experience of our stay- it did make exiting the car parking area quite difficult at times! The housekeeper is a fantastic asset to the cottage and owner. She was extremely helpful, immediately responding to one issue we had on arrival and provided clean linen as requested. Thank you Marisa for looking after us very well during our stay. We would definitely return and recommend to others. Hide

Fab cottage. Our second visit for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday. Feels peaceful and remote but with very quick and easy access for exploring the surrounding areas. A bonus that we can take our Westie with us and can let her out into an enclosed garden.

This stay is located in a prime position to explore the area. The views are amazing and although it has a rural feel, the road can be really busy (as stated in description). Enough space for us 2 plus dog. However sleeps 4, but feel the living area would be rather cosy.

We had a really enjoyable stay at Ed`s Barn (2 adults and 2 young children under 8). Whilst appearing small from the outside, the cottage was spacious and homely inside and is very well equipped. The views are stunning and having sheep in the adjoining field was a real thrill for the kids! The location is fantastic, a lovely rural setting but with Read morethe city of Bristol close by and the beautiful Chew Valley nearby too. We certainly hope to come back and would strongly recommend Ed`s Barn. Hide
