Property code: OC-PK527

Close to the village centre and the Norman church, this cosy cottage is the perfect retreat for couples wanting a relaxing break away, exploring the natural beauty of the Peak District with their four-legged companion at their side. Stroll around the village green and old pond as you head towards the traditional pub where you and your canine companion will be given a warm welcome. Sample the local ales, enjoy a hearty lunch and pick up local produce in the village store that can be found inside the pub.

With exposed beams and wood burner, the lounge is an inviting space where you can sink into the comfortable sofa and relax with your hound at your feet. There is plenty of room to rustle up a meal in the well-equipped kitchen before you head upstairs to the charming double bedroom and modern bathroom. Tails will wag as your dog explores the pretty shared cottage garden while you sit and share an al fresco drink or simple supper.

From Parwich you can step onto the Tissington Trail, a 13-mile stretch of disused railway leading through picturesque villages and unspoilt countryside. For a more challenging route, walk the High Peak Trail discovering abandoned railway buildings and spectacular views. Uncover ancient history as you follow the Royston Grange Archaeology Trail passing Roman ruins, megalithic chambers and Bronze Age barrows. Get a bird’s eye view of the countryside from the cable car at Heights of Abraham (11.5 miles) where your dog rides for free. Sniff out the best picnic spot in the 60-acre grounds or share a treat from the tearoom.

What a gem! Quaint cottage, clean and well equipped. Even the fire was laid ready to be lit! Great location to explore the Peak District from. Lovely walks locally. The Sycamore Inn pub is literally a few steps away which did great food! Will definitely stay again.
