The former Hartington railway station (1.5 miles) is now an attractive picnic area and the converted track is known as the Tissington Trail, which is popular with dog walkers. Hartington is also a good starting point for walking along Beresford Dale, a scenic place with its intriguingly formed cliffs and rocks.
