When noses begin to sniff the air, head into the smart kitchen to rustle up something tasty for all; two-legged guests can enjoy a sit down meal at the dining table or when the sun shines take your plate outside for a spot of al fresco eating. If canine companions follow you outside, the utility room is a convenient place in which to towel off soggy paws. Climb stairs to the first and second floors to find two double bedrooms. A bathroom on each floor, one with fantastic roll-top bath, makes freshening up light work.
For outdoor adventures, travel into the heart of the Peak District National Park to Kinder Scout, 35 miles from home: the highest in the East Midlands at 636 metres above sea level. Enjoy a hike and a stick chase before refuelling at a local pub nearby. 2 miles from home, the Crich Tramway Village is a good place to visit before heading into the village for a stroll.
