With four bedrooms and bags of space, this stylish barn conversion is the perfect place to share a holiday with family or friends seeking a rural retreat from which to explore the Peak District. Within walking distance of picturesque Whaley Bridge, there is a huge variety of countryside and water’s edge walks for you to sniff out with your four-legged friends.

Located in the grounds of a working farm this spacious barn offers contemporary accommodation in the heart of the countryside. On the ground floor is a grand dining room where you can entertain up to 12 guests around the formal dining table. There are steps leading into a traditional style kitchen. Further steps lead to two bedrooms, one double and one twin, which share a modern bathroom. On the first floor, your dogs will love lying next to the lounge’s picture window, watching the wildfowl swoop across the fields. Canine cheerleaders can support their owner’s efforts in the games room – don’t let them down! Two further bedrooms, one twin and one double with a four-poster bed, share a shower room on this floor. Outside the property, your pet will enjoy sniffing the stone walls of the enclosed shared patio. This property can be hired with the adjacent barn to accommodate up to 16 guests in total.

Picturesque Whaley Bridge is at the head of the Peak Forest Canal where you can find leisurely walks along the tree-lined towpath. Take your hound with you as you hop on board a narrowboat and enjoy a tranquil trip along the canal. Wander up the canal to Bugsworth Basin and join the Peak Forest Tramway Trail for a traffic-free walk along the 19th-century railway. Visit the historic spa town of Buxton (8 miles) where you and your hound can take a vintage tram to Poole’s Cavern for a walk through Grindlow Woods.

Beautiful barn which has been converted incredibly well. It is very roomy and I love the different levels which gave us even more space and privacy when we needed it. Surrounded by spectacular scenery, peaceful and quiet and yet only 5 minutes drive back down the hill to amenities, pubs, supermarket etc in Whaley Bridge. Buxton only 15 minutes drivRead moree over the moors, the stunning Goyt Valley close by too. Incredible views from Eccles Pike are only a few hundred yards from the doorstep. Hide

This cottage is very spacious and offers an excellent base for hiking in the peak district. The rooms are large and comfortable. As the weather was sunny and dry we made use of the BBQ provided.

Pretty cottage, clean and comfortable. Pool table was very popular. Youngest Grandson (10 months) took his first steps in the sitting room. Lovely space for all 8 of us to gather. Lots to explore locally. We liked NewMills and Ladybower Reservoir. Mam Tor was all ice and wind so we cut short the walk and went for lunch in Castleton. A real find aftRead moreer another reservoir walk was a pub called the Beehive. Excellent food, cheerful staff and log fires. Hope you have a lovely holiday. Hide

We had a wonderful stay in Felton Brook Cottage at New Year. There was plenty of space with a dining room, living room and a games room. The cottage was clean and warm with a well equipped kitchen. The views are lovely and it was great to be able to take our dog for walks straight from the cottage. My children (and my Mum!) enjoyed meeting the cowsRead more on the farm. I'd recommend the cottage and we are keen to return for another stay. Hide

What a lovely surprise, house decorated for Christmas, grandchildren delighted. After a long journey up from the west through Storm Derragh it was lovely to enter a lovely warm welcoming house, and a bottle of wine - bonus. Thank-you to all .

Felton Brook has been very skilfully adapted from a barn, very attractive interior. The location is excellent, between Whaley Bridge (the best approach), Chapel and Buxton.
