Bring your dog along for an exciting excursion in Dorset’s marvellous countryside, staying in this traditional country cottage. Laid out with any small family in mind, the barn conversion offers ideal lodgings for four guests and one canine companion. A large, fenced garden ensures your energetic pup has plenty of space to run around on days when you chose to relax at home, whilst the proximity to so many rural beauty spots ensures that dog-friendly days out are always assured.

This single-storey property simply exudes character, complete with original hay loft stalls which act as a versatile partition in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This generous living space provides ample room for your pack of five to relax, complete with cushy sofas, armchairs and plenty of room to position your dog’s crate or bed. As the night falls, take your dog-tired bodies off to two bedrooms right here on the ground floor, leaving Rover to drift off and dream of walkies past. In the morning, throw open the French doors to allow your four-pawed pal free roam of the garden as you prepare your morning brew.

Pop your pup on a lead and head to Blandford Forum (6.5 miles), the nearest local market town and a fantastic starting point for walks in the Cranston Chase AONB. Let your dog sniff out endless wildlife along the banks of the River Stour or follow the North Dorset Trailway, a fantastic walkies route which leads from Sturminster Newton (15.5 miles) to nearby Spetisbury (4 miles). Heading towards the coast, there are endless seascapes and clifftop delights to be enjoyed on Dorset’s heritage coast (16 miles). The Hayloft is a superb conversion, with a good-sized kitchen, dining area cum lounge. Very comfortable and relaxing. The large enclosed lawn was a bonus. The owners were extremely generous and thoughtful with just the right level of Christmas decorations. It had made it a memorable Festive break.
