This fabulous property, in a stunning rural location, is the ideal holiday retreat for large families and groups of friends. The converted barn sleeps ten guests and two canine chums and is perfectly placed to explore some of the area’s top woof-friendly attractions, including Rudyard Lake (11 miles away) and The Roaches (9 miles away).

The beautifully presented former hay barn cleverly combines spacious contemporary living with traditional features. The large entrance hall is the perfect place to leave your muddy walking boots and dog leads, before heading into the kitchen/diner. The spacious dining area has ample room to seat the whole party, making it a great social area and ideal for celebrating special occasions together. On the first floor, you’ll find the stylish lounge, complete with a roaring wood burner creating the perfect dozing spot for the hounds. To the front of the property is the enclosed garden and patio, boasting amazing views of the surrounding hills and providing ample space for the pups to play. There is also an outdoor dog shower to the front of the property, ideal to clean up muddy paws.

The Roaches – a dominant feature in the North Staffordshire landscape – is perfect dog-walking territory. A 5-mile circular route takes you along an elevated rocky ridge and past some fascinating rock formations, with spectacular views out over Tittesworth Reservoir. Spend a relaxing afternoon at Rudyard Lake, which boasts some of the most dramatic scenery in the Staffordshire Moorlands. Stroll along the water’s edge, enjoy a spot of fishing and even take the woofers for a ride on the narrow-gauge steam railway. The pretty market town of Leek, 8 miles away, has a wealth of independent shops, many of which welcome four-legged visitors. The former textile town is a great place to pick up unique soft furnishings and it also hosts some fabulous outdoor markets.

Loved our stay in Felt Barn. Very spacious, clean & well equipped for a large family get together. Annabel was very welcoming on arrival & on hand if needed. Lots to do & see in the surrounding area & some nice walks from the Barn itself. Recommend the Sunday lunch at the Black Lion Inn at Butterton.

The Barn was ideal for six adults, three children under 5 and a baby. There was plenty of crockery, a large table to seat 10 plus extra stools around the breakfast bar. Upstairs there was comfortable seating for us all. Everywhere was spotless and having 3 en suites plus a bathoom for the children and a toilet downstairs was great. The photos dont do it justice! This is a beautifully decorated, homely cottage with a fully stocked kitchen and spacious rooms, majority en-suite. Excellent enclosed yard for the doggies to run around and stare at the sheep. Perfect for a large family stay and the owners were so friendly, helpful and responsive. Couldnt recommend more.

We were a party of 7 people staying over Christmas, the accommodation and location is first class. Great communication prior to arrival and Felt Barn is well equipped throughout. So much to do within a 10 mile radius with beautiful scenery around the property. We have no hesitation to recommend.
