This striking red-brick property is a beautiful place for a break with family or friends, in a semi-rural setting on the outskirts of the village of Brailsford, 5 miles from Ashbourne. Located in a quiet lane, it’s a convenient base to explore town and country. You can potter to the village shop or dog-friendly Rose and Crown pub, or head into the wilds with your hound via the Tissington Trail, a 13-mile bridle path, cycleway and footpath that offers some of the region’s prettiest views.

The property is a sympathetically-created Grade II-listed barn conversion, bearing the hallmarks of its former use, including exposed beams, timber floors and vaulted ceilings. Access is through a spacious hallway, where you’ll find a utility room (an ideal space for dog bowls and baskets). The open-plan living area, accessed via a short flight of steps from ground level, offers plenty of space to spread out and relax, prepare meals, dine, and lounge on the comfy sofas with a good book and your canine pal. The two bedrooms, a double and a twin, overlook the front and rear of the property and are furnished simply and elegantly, with natural materials and gorgeous timber floors throughout. There’s an enclosed courtyard to keep pets safe when you’re basking in the sunshine or firing up the BBQ, and you can let pets roam freely in the enclosed driveway and gardens to the front of the property.

You’re spoilt for choice in terms of local attractions, with the country house of Kedleston Hall just 4 miles east of the property, where you can explore the parkland and pleasure grounds with your dog. You can also explore picturesque Dovedale, a National Nature Reserve, 13 miles north, within the national park.

Great cottage, central location and very quiet even though the main road wasnt far away. Had everything you need and provided a good base to visit Buxton, Bakewell, Ashbourne and Ilam and the Tissington Trail.

Beautiful little cottage off a country road. Great ammenties, local pub and in walking distance. Nearest supermarkets are about 6 miles away, but as long as youve got a car, its great. Cottage has everything you need, including a TV , dvd player & board games. Pretty village with a self service dairy down the road in yeardsley.

This little barn conversion was great for us. We stayed during renovations of our own property nearby and even though we were relatively local Widad (our host) ensured we had everything we needed and more. She recommended lovely places to eat and checked on us to ensure we were settled. Fantastic choice for the local area, lots of lovely walks and Read morescenery and activities. Hide

A convenient, comfortable, cozy cottage. Probably not suitable for anyone with mobility problems due to quite steep stairs. Lovely area with lots of dog walks. Friendly locals and church congregation.

The Colleys welcomed us into their lovely place for a week. We had everything that we needed for the duration of our stay and they were very helpful when we needed. We were house hunting and Mrs Colley came out of her way to give us much needed advice. The place was spotless and very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again if we are in thRead moree area. Hide
