Property code: OC-84019

Nestled on a cobbled lane in the heart of Swanage, this three-bedroom cottage offers the perfect base for coastal adventures in Dorset. Sleeping six guests and welcoming up to two happy hounds, this picture-perfect cottage is ideal for a family-friendly break or a getaway with friends – and man’s best friend at your side. Sniff out adventure fossil hunting on the Jurassic Coast by day, and let sleeping dogs lie by night as you unwind in the delightful cottage gardens and enjoy sociable evenings in the lounge.

Inside, this two-storey cottage is warm and welcoming, with everything your pack needs for a comfortable stay. The open-plan kitchen and dining room offers ample space for you to prepare and enjoy delicious home-cooked treats, with the patio doors thrown open so your pups can explore and play at leisure. The garden is a delight, with little nooks tucked amongst flowerbeds offering space to dine alfresco or just enjoy a cuppa or glass of wine in the salty sea air. Fill the air with laughter and chatter in the light-filled lounge as you catch up with your favourite TV shows or just enjoy quality time with your loved ones, pups snoozing in front of the open fire on chilly evenings. Upstairs, a king-size bedroom, bunkroom for two, and bedroom with zip-and-link beds offer flexible sleeping arrangements for your group. A family bathroom completes the interior.

Let your pups lead the way to adventure in the morning as you head for zoomies on the beach – Monkey beach and North beach are dog friendly all year, while Main beach has summer restrictions. There are plenty of opportunities for walkies too with cliff-top views from the coastal path, and Durlston Country Park and Nature Reserve within easy walking distance. History-loving hounds will love a trip on the Swanage steam train to explore the ruins of Corfe Castle, while sea dogs will be delighted with a trip on the Jurassic Coast Cruise.

Whilst this was a charming, well located, clean and well-equipped cottage, there were a number of safety issues with the property which were not taken as seriously as we would have hoped, and need addressing. These include - shower leaking through the ceiling below near electrical wiring, broken bunk bed safety fixing and a broken plug socket in chRead moreild bedroom. The smoke detector battery was flat on arrival & we were told to replace it ourselves. Hide

Excellent location short walk to the town and beach yet quite. Free parking in Park Road for two cars all week was not a problem despite the first weekend being the folk festival

We had a lovely stay at Seaside cottage in August 2024. The location is convenient for Swanage town and the seafront. The cottage had everything we needed (including a bath mat, something mentioned as missing in previous reviews). We really enjoyed the outside space and we found the cottage cosy and comfortable.
