Set in the pretty village of Moulton, this luxurious two-bedroom property will appeal to families and friends (including four-legged ones) seeking to discover the ancient castles, quaint towns and glorious countryside of North Yorkshire. Stroll to the dog-friendly village pub to sample some of the local ales or enjoy one of the many walks on offer from the doorstep along quiet country lanes. Enjoy a flutter at Catterick Racecourse (5 miles) where dogs are allowed into the Course Enclosure, and try your hand at stand-up paddleboarding at nearby Ellerton Lake (4 miles) where dogs can join the lesson too.

Stepping into the entrance of this Grade II listed property, there is plenty of space to wipe clean mucky paws and remove outdoor clothing. Pick up some local produce to prepare for your supper in the well-equipped kitchen where you can linger over your meals at the stylish dining table. Your hound can warm their paws in front of the living room wood burner while you curl up on the plump sofa with a glass of wine and relax. When it’s time for bed, retire to one of the two restful super king-size bedrooms, both with en-suite facilities. Pack your pet’s favourite bedding so they get a good night’s sleep too. Outside, your pup can stretch their paws in the pretty walled garden as you enjoy a drink on the patio.

Explore the cobbled market place at Richmond (7.5 miles) and picnic in the gardens of dog-friendly Richmond Castle, one of the oldest Norman fortifications in England. Enjoy a gentle stroll around the Foxglove Covert Local Nature Reserve (9 miles) through the woodland and heath. Take the lead on a bracing walk through the stunning landscape of the Yorkshire Dales (18.5 miles) before rewarding your efforts with a meal at a traditional country inn.

Lovely cottage, clean, warm and very comfortable. Great location, with lovely walks. Delicious Sunday Lunch at The Heifer in Scorton (Black Bull in Moulton appears to have closed). Highly recommend this property.

We loved the cottage and its surroundings. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Its well situated for both trips out in the car either East or West and lovely walks from the door

Little gem of a cottage. Lovely neighbours and our dog could be off lead as soon as we left the door. Nice walks and the garden was lovely to sit in. The pub is a stones throw away, which was great. Will definitely return.

Beautiful location, so peaceful and tranquil. The beds were probably the best I've experienced on a self catering. The garden was gorgeous, I found the bird food and we spent loads of time just watching the birds.......bliss!

Lovely cottage, excellent location. Beds extremely comfortable. The owners left a very generous welcome package. There was also a very generous amount of firewood available for the log burner. The Black Bull pub in the village was amazing, we had Mothers Day lunch there and it was fantastic. We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was lovely, situated in a peaceful and beautiful place. With lots of nice places to visit and great walks. Also the pubs nearby were great. Colleen and Andrew are wonderful hosts, who are willing to help you with your questions. We really recommend this cottage to rent and we will come back again.

Superb stay in the Artists retreat which is a fully equipped and spacious cottage in a beautiful location with easy access to walks, pubs and restaurants and a variety of surrounding towns, villages and other attractions. The owners who live close by were extremely helpful for anything we needed and had left an amazing welcome gift basket. We have Read morestayed in numerous cottages from this site over the years and in the main all very good however the AR is one we would not hesitate to return. TY. Hide

This cottage is located in the picturesque village of Moulton. Ideally located for Richmond and other attractions just off A1(M). The Black Bull Inn is friendly and serves great food. A lovely welcome hamper left for us in the cottage.
