Explore the Isle of Purbeck and Dorset’s spectacular Jurassic Coast during a stay at this stunning holiday home.
Built from traditional Purbeck stone, the cottage thoughtfully combines original features with modern comforts throughout. Lead your canine companion up the steps to the front door and pop dog bowls down in the utility room before exploring the kitchen/diner, with its beamed ceiling, quarry-tiled floor and farmhouse-style table for eight. The country charm continues in the lounge, where you can snuggle up on cosy sofas, your hound by your feet, and admire the flickering flames in the wood burner. The king-size bedroom on the ground floor boasts oak floorboards, a high, beamed ceiling and its own seating area with a TV and a wood burner. Guests staying in this room have use of the ground-floor shower room. A turning, cottage-style staircase leads to the first floor and the three bedrooms – all with areas of sloping ceiling – plus a stunning family bathroom with a free-standing bath and walk-in shower. The cottage is surrounded by almost an acre of lovely grounds, including a huge lawn (reached via steps), a walled courtyard and a patio for al fresco drinks and dining.
Set between the duck pond and the welcoming pub in the picturesque village of Worth Matravers, the cottage is surrounded by fabulous walks, including the Smugglers’ Ways, leading down to the coast, and the Priests Way, an ancient track between quarries and across open fields. For a run on the sand, Monkey Beach in delightful Swanage is just 4.5 miles.
