Built from traditional Purbeck stone, the cottage thoughtfully combines original features with modern comforts throughout. Lead your canine companion up the steps to the front door and pop dog bowls down in the utility room before exploring the kitchen/diner, with its beamed ceiling, quarry-tiled floor and farmhouse-style table for eight. The country charm continues in the lounge, where you can snuggle up on cosy sofas, your hound by your feet, and admire the flickering flames in the wood burner. Guests staying in this room have use of the ground-floor shower room. A turning, cottage-style staircase leads to the first floor and the three bedrooms – all with areas of sloping ceiling – plus a stunning family bathroom with a free-standing bath and walk-in shower. The cottage is surrounded by almost an acre of lovely grounds, including a huge lawn (reached via steps), a walled courtyard and a patio for al fresco drinks and dining.

Lovely cottage in a pleasant, quiet village. It was very comfortable for a family holiday, with lots of character and a really well-designed and laid out living space (including a great kitchen). Highly recommended! Make sure you bring milk for tea/coffee, etc., as the nearest shop is 15 minutes' drive away.

Cottage well equipped, and complimentary items most welcome. Lots of walking around lovely village. Pub just at end of drive. Do not have to travel far to reach the beaches of Studland and Swannage.

It is our sixth or seventh year and is a real find for a family group holiday - the large kitchen table means we can share memorable meals and on rainy days do craft activities
