Venture out on coastal and country walks with your faithful friend when you stay at this airy barn conversion in Shingle Street, Suffolk. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom retreat looks out over rural surroundings towards the sea. Return home to swim in the shared covered pool during the high season or to play in the shared games room. Or toss a ball with your happy hound in your private garden or in the shared paddock.

Take two steps up to let yourselves into the single-storey holiday home, with your delighted dog close behind. Leave your walking boots and his lead in the lobby then take another step up into the stylish, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Let your chum pad about and explore while you light the wood burner on chilly days or pull open the glass doors during warmer weather. Prepare meals in here for hounds and humans, dine together and relax in front of the TV. Three more steps up lead to a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a twin and the family bathroom. Take in the views from the deck over your morning coffee, while your contented canine basks in the sunshine on the grass. Make the most of the games barn after your trips out, go swimming or arrange for a private hot tub to be set up. There is a separate, shared laundry area and space for cycles. The barn comes with private parking.

Take your pal down to the secluded pebble beach at Shingle Street where he can play freely and paddle in the shallows. Look out for seals in the water and keep your excited pet close if you see any nesting birds. Lace up your boots, pick up the dog lead and head off on a 6.5-mile circular walk from the doorstep via Bawdsey.

  • Shared covered pool (solar-warmed and typically available from May until the end of September), games room with table tennis and table football (please note pool unavailable from the start of 2025)
  • Hot tub – guests can directly hire and pay for a hot tub via Suffolk Hot Tubs. A separate charge of £25 for a weekend booking or £35 for a week for heating the hot tub is payable to the owners during your stay – they should be notified of any hire in advance so they can facilitate access and setup.

This is a lovely barn conversion, built to a high standard. Comfortable, good amenities, great location. Very relaxing for a break away and highly recommended.

Wonderful location with amazing views, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Owners friendly and helpful. Wish we couldve stayed longer.

Really enjoyed our holiday. The owners were on site and were very welcoming and helpful with some recommendations. Property was maintained to a high standard and very nicely furnished. Very quiet location but close to the beach and only a short drive to pubs and shops etc. ideal for a short break and well definitely look to return again. Thank Read moreyou! Hide
