Simply brimming with charm, this gorgeous getaway is just perfect for a chilled break in the countryside with a loved one and of course your dog. Full of original features like the beamed ceilings and the stone walls, it has been fully modernised with a delightful open-plan living space and a cosy king size bedroom nestled in the eaves. Get out on long countryside walks from the doorstep or hop in the car for windswept walks on the beach.

 

The farmhouse-style kitchen has everything you’ll need to rustle up hearty meals after invigorating days exploring, with a utility area for muddy gear and a table to enjoy leisurely dining. Retire to the lounge and settle back on the comfortable sofas, while your four-legged friend bags the warmest spot in front of the wood burner. Snatch a quiet moment with a magazine and a glass of wine in the window seat or enjoy the last of the sunshine in the beautiful mature garden where Fido will be in snuffling-paradise. You’ll find it hard to leave the private little haven outside, edged by original flagstone paths and scented by rose bushes.

 

Whether your idea of a stroll is to the welcoming village pub, less than 0.25 miles away or 6-mile walks through woodland and moors, there are plenty of trails to follow right from the doorstep. It’s 7 miles to the market town of Alnwick for a bit of retail therapy and refreshments in one of the many cafes and restaurants. And for a real treat for everyone, dog included, head to one of the pristine beaches such as Alnmouth or Beadnell, each around 15 miles away, and get those ears flapping on a full-throttle beach run.

This is an outstanding cottage in a fabulous setting next to a beautiful church. The interior is without doubt full of character and charm as well as being very comfortable and spacious. We loved the ease with which you could park the car right outside the front door and that you felt immediately immersed in a tranquil setting with wildlife in abunRead moredance. The garden was idyllic and well tended with numerous features to enjoy from every angle. At every point in the day there are sunny spots to sit and relax. We didnt have a dog but I can safely say it is a very secure garden with plenty of space to run around. There was a constant supply of hot water for those wanting a bath and the bed and sofas were very comfortable. Almost everything was supplied by the owners to make your stay as comfortable as possible and lots of thought have gone into making it a wonderful place to stay. Its location is in a quiet village so a car is needed to reach local attractions but the nearest town of Alnwick is only a 15-20 mins drive away. The Tankersville Arms pub is only a two minute walk from the property and it is a lovely place to eat and dog friendly too. We highly recommend this cottage if you want to have total relaxation and peace. Hide

A really comfortable, spacious well equipped cottage with a beautiful garden, in a quiet position. Everything thought about. We especially liked the availability of a summer duvet, the first time we've had this in a holiday cottage.

Great holiday in lovely cottage in perfect location. Cottage clean, comfy and well equipped. Very tasteful with nice finishing touches, art etc. Absolutely beautiful garden & secure for dog. A lovely cottage to stay with your dog. Spotlessly clean, facilities were of very good quality, enclosed garden. From the door Moorland walks, and a short drive away for Forrest and beach walks. The Tankerville Arms is 1 min walk from the cottage and serves good food in a friendly atmosphere. Parking is off road, outside the cottage.

Beautifully furnished, decorated and characterful cottage. We loved the garden ( as did our dog!) and appreciated all the different sitting areas and the gentle sound of the church bells which did not bother us in the least! We hope to come back to this perfect cottage to explore the natural beauty of Northumbria further.

A cosy cottage tucked away in a cul-de-sac by the church is this ideally located village. The cottage is equipped with all you need to make your stay. The garden is very pretty and we love all the garden birds.

The Property was clean and of a high standard of presentation, Well developed kitchen area good selection of crockery and cutlery and utensils to use as required. This is a beautiful, warm and welcoming cottage. With everything you need in place. We could park the car right outside the property. Dog friendly with lovely walks from the doorstep. Beautiful character cottage in a peaceful setting down a little lane leading to a really picturesque church. Very well equipped, every little space put to good use. A beautiful cottage. It was spotlessly clean, had a beautiful, large garden (even better than the photos) and was lovely and quiet. We enjoyed the bird song and the church bells. The village pub was friendly and the food excellent. It was a great venue for our dog, as the pub is dog friendly and the beaches are great for a run and play.
