Celebrate special occasions with a holiday in this incredible barn conversion. There’s room for a large mixed group and their dogs to relax and enjoy the beautiful Northumberland countryside and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You’ll be living in five-star luxury with a hot tub and private sauna, plus plenty of other lovely features.

Most of the rooms in this property are on the ground floor. There’s the airy kitchen/lounge, which has a small dining table, island unit, speaker system and underfloor heating. The room has exposed beams and a stone wall, stone arched windows, and French doors to the garden. For formal meals, try the grand dining room with more wooden touches. The ground floor is completed by a utility room, WC, shower room, and two bedrooms: a twin room and a double. The first-floor bedrooms are accessed separately via two different sets of stairs, one of which is spiral. You’ll have two king-size bedrooms, both with en-suites. Everything has been decorated with care and designed to be comfortable and decadent. Step out of the property to see the 1.5-acre garden, with lawns, wildflower meadows, seating areas, stone features and a gravelled area. It’s a wonderful place to spend an evening, cooking up feasts on the BBQ, eating alfresco, and then hopping in the hot tub or steaming in the sauna while your dogs sniff the flowers.

You’ll be in a rural location with plenty of beautiful spots nearby. Take a walk around the ruined Temple of Mithras (11.5 miles) or the Roman Housesteads Fort (16 miles), both of which allow dogs, or visit Bellingham (7 miles) for dog-friendly pubs and a golf course. Complete your trip with a day out in Newcastle, 26 miles from the property.

Was looking for somewhere special to celebrate milestone birthdays with the family and this beautiful cottage did not disappoint. This is our second time staying at The Auld Byre and it certainly won't be our last. The accommodation is excellent and the sauna and hot tub make it feel extra special. Most of the rooms were warm enough and comfortable. As far as we are concerned the main problem was a very major one that the hot water supply to the showers, taps and baths was totally inadequate. If a house intended for 8 occupants can only supply enough hot water for 3 people to have showers around breakfast time, then something is very wrong. We took our 5 teenagers and dog for a holiday at Auld Byre and we had such a great time. Lovely house with good facilities in a beautiful location. Loads to do round and about as well. Alan and Marjorie are really lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. Their hospitality shone through the whole holiday. We are all keen to come back next year.

This is a beautiful cottage in a gorgeous setting. The owners were lovely and made sure everything was fine. It is a very homely cottage, with a brilliant kitchen and very comfortable bedrooms. The setting is excellent and we spent most of the week exploring nearby sites on Hadrian's wall.

Stayed here for Christmas and enjoyed it so much decided to go back for a quiet break away doing some walking round Kielder and Hadrians Wall. Excellent accommodation and facilities which we highly recommend. It is also close enough for a visit to Hexham or Jedburgh so ideally placed. Sauna and Spa were enjoyed again!
