Watch Rover's soft ears prick up at the thought of yet another exciting walk through picturesque Dorset. This cottage on the Isle of Portland is in an excellent position for exploring the Jurassic Coast and Dorset countryside on foot and by paw. Sleeping five guests, the three-bedroom, dog-friendly hideaway is within 500 metres of long Chesil Beach, where pups are welcome all year round.
Return from your excursions to brush down sandy paws and wander into the kitchen. Feed your favourite furry friend, give him a long drink or water in here, then put the kettle on for a cup of tea and a slice of Dorset apple cake. You will also find everything you need to help you rustle up full meals for your family and friends. Take a step down into the adjoining lounge/diner then settle in comfort with Rover at your feet. Catch up on your favourite boxset as you give his furry head a good scratch and make plans for another day of dog-friendly activities. There is also a useful utility room downstairs. As day turns to night, bid farewell to your pet and climb the stairs up to the first floor, where a king-size bedroom and family bathroom are located. Amble on up a level to the twin and single bedrooms, with their impressive sea views. Bask out in the sunny garden while Rover sniffs about and explores. Sit out under the stars here with him on clear evenings.
Follow all or part of a circular 13-mile coastal walk around the edge of the Isle of Portland. At Chesil Beach, pick up the South West Coast Path and follow that for a spell with Rover trotting beside you. Plan a day out to dog-friendly Durdle Door, with its iconic rock arch, 19.5 miles away.
