Bring the whole gang together at this stunning, 16th-century thatched cottage sitting at the foot of the Quantock Hills. Sleeping nine people across five bedrooms and welcoming two canine companions, this is a perfect base for large families or groups of friends. During the day, head to Doniford Beach for wild walkies, and afterwards, come home to dine alfresco in the cottage’s private garden while your pups run free.
From the private off-road parking area (there’s room for six cars), make your way to this gorgeous semi-detached cottage. Grade II-listed, it boasts an abundance of original features that have been thoughtfully combined with modern comforts. Step inside and you’ll be greeted by a welcoming hallway that leads you to the lounge, dining room and the stairs to the first floor. Take a moment to relax in the spacious lounge and appreciate its characterful fireplace and exposed beams, before you make your way to the galley kitchen to whip up some dinner. Host an elegant dinner in the spacious country-style dining room, or head out to the secluded garden to enjoy an al fresco dinner. Afterwards, make your way back to the lounge to chat with your loved ones while your pups snooze. Head upstairs and you’ll find five tastefully decorated bedrooms that offer views of the country and garden views. The stylish master bedroom has a super-king-size bed and a balcony overlooking the garden. Adjacent to that you’ll find a single bedroom, ideal for a little one. There are also two double bedrooms and a lovely twin. Completing the layout is a convenient family bathroom.
Take your pups for a walk along the scenic Watchet Harbour (3 miles) and admire the colourful boats bobbing in the water. Alternatively, bask in the quiet, secluded charm of Helwell Bay (4.5 miles). Your dog can enjoy exploring the rocky terrain, and any fossil hunters in your party will delight in the area’s geological treasures.
